Hey all,

I am getting my garage ready for my Gold Crown I and I need help with deciding on a color for the table. The legs, crossmember, skirts, aprons and ball box will all be painted. I think that the table was originally the standard "off white" with bright red aprons.

I can't decide if I want to keep it more original i.e. all off white or go wild with colors. The misc. metal parts will most likely be chromed.

Here are a few pics of the table and the layers of paint it has had over the years.

HELP !!!!!!!!

Thanks,

Russ.....

OK.......I guess the consensus is BLACK!!!!!

I also agree that black looks great, but I think that it looks much better when the tops of the rails are black formica also. I am not painting or changing the tops of the rails from the original wood grain brown formica.

Thanks for the input so far.

Any other ideas out there?

Nooooooooo, don't paint the top of the rails. Just shine them up. Will look great.

Whatever you do, please post a few pics if it's not too much trouble. I have a GCII that's a hideous blue/white combo, and I haven't been able to decide what color to paint it. The black/chrome idea is the best I've heard so far.

Thanks and good luck.

I just noticed the link to the tables for sale on ebay. Those tables are just showing natural wood on the skirts & legs. Is that how these tables shipped? I think every one I've ever seen has been painted.

If it was my table, i'd change the table color to black and put on the new blue simonis cloth that they use on the Accu-stats table at the US Open. I've seen some tables with the new blue cloth and I like the way the balls show up.....

Right man. I was once involved in another discussion elsewhere about Olhausen tables' colors, the poster claimed he likes black felt, and I said I loved black I've always loved black. But at the end of the day I was poked by another joker for being obsessed with the color BLACK..
