I cannot find any info on a cue that I have that is about 30 years old. It has the signature Cicero Murphy (with a "c" and not underlined with a cue drawing). Everything I find on these it is always Cisero Murphy with a "s" and the signature is underlined with a drawing of a cue stick. It does have the Adam Cues lion stamp on the butt also. Has anyone ever seen his signature cues like this? I will post a pic of it later tonight when I get home.... Thanks everyone...

Please do post a pic.

If we can't nail it down then Jayman is the one you need. He may see this and post....if not maybe PM him. He's the Adam guy.

Here are 2 pics I took with my cell phone, quality of pic sucks but you can see the signature does not have a cue stick underline like all the ones I have seen before..... I will have to get my wife's camera and take better pics as soon as I can...... Anyone with any info on this cue ? Thanks guys.

These cues were made in the early to Mid-80's and yes they were made by Adam Custom Cues. There were a number of different models made, I do not remember how many.

The cue that you posted photo's of is the least expensive cue cue in the series. I had one of these myself not long ago, I sold it in the same condition as your's for $200 dollars.

The cue was part of Adam Cue's Superstar Signature Series cue line. There were 4 different lines. One for Cisero Murphy, Steve Mizerak, Jim Rempe, and Allen Hopkins. Each line had 12 different cue models. Your cue was the first model in the Cisero Murphy line. Back in the early 1980's it would have sold for around $85 or so. I had the first model in the Steve Mizerak line. It was similar and I paid $85 for mine back then.

Thanks Dave.... Any idea as to why the 1st model was spelled Cicero and then later it is Cisero? Also any clue as to current value?

Manwon, any idea as to why mine is spelled Cicero and the others are Cisero with a cue stick underline?

I have no idea, but it was most likely a misprint at the factory in Japan.

I seriously doubt the signature plate was a misprint, I would think that maybe it changed from one year to the next. If anyone can help explain the signature difference, I would appreciate it... Thanks

It could very well have been an error and they tried to get them all back from distributers after catching it, but some may have gotten sold before the recall.

I noticed that the name is not spelled right in other places as well....maybe the theory that it was a misprint that was recalled is correct.

It is also possible it changed at some point based on a year of production.

Could be rare......I dunno......

I looked around and couldn't find a description or picture of another on the web.

Hopefully somebody can say what the spelling thing is about....and if nobody can then I would say that is sufficient reason to claim the cue is rare....but that is still unsatisfying.....

I have the same cue but except the cloth part where you hold it from but it not black its white. Im trying to find the rubber stop on the end part of the cue.

Still wondering if anyone can explain this cue......Thanks

I would say that the cue is still an Adam cue with a signature that is different than some of the other Adam cues in the same series.
I'm sure some Adam signature cue collector would want it for his collection.

Hope this helps

Might just be my bad eye sight and the fuzzy pics, but it looks like the cue you have is actually signed and not a transfer.
