Help or suggestions on selling an old pool table

I have been asked by a customer to help him sell a 1925 Brunswick Madison 9' pool table that has been in his family since early 1900's. He is the fifth generation. He has the table stored. I have looked at it and am going to take pictures this afternoon. He has the original brunwick balls, house cues with logo's still attached, stand up rack. Table looks great as is but of course restoration would make it look fantastic. I have sold some of my own personal stuff on this sight and sometimes feel that asking for offers is not the best way to go.

I am asking for suggestions as to how I might proceed, sell everything together, sell it piece meal. I know shipping a table this size can be difficult although I could transport the table within 600 mi. of Upstate NY for the cost of gas and a trailer rental, as I am retired.

If there might be a better place to put it up for sale and possibly a suggestion on price, as our area is not a hotbed of pool table sales of any kind and I know around large metro cities prices can be much better.

Suggestion please

If it were me I would not split up the set.. I would assume and hope that your friend has not tried taking this table a part and it is stored as a whole.. Price will depend on overall unrestored condition.. Whether or not the veneers have started to seperate, and the condition of the slate.. i.e no cracks.. A buddy sold a slightly earlier model a few years back that had been restored 20 years earlier, with the original balls, cues, and stand, and aftermarket cover for $4,200.. Just my opinion, but shipping and removal should be left up to the buyer with something of this size... Unless you agree on a price to do it yourself, and said price is paid up front.. Very detailed pictures of the joints, tongue and grooves, frame, and legs, should be taken along with a very detailed description of every inch of the table to ensure the buyer is getting exactly what you say it is..
Good luck, hope it works out well!!
