Help ourselves by helping JAM

I would think that quite alot of people have the same thoughts I do about JAM (Jennie Malloy).

I appreciate very much her commentary and pictures from the various tournaments that she and Keith travel to. I think everyone would agree with me that she's kind of our own personal traveling reporter. Most times the ONLY link we really have with what's going on.

I know that I couldn't keep up like her posting at tournaments and wouldn't want to anyway and my hat goes off to her.

What I would like to do is start a fund to get her hooked up with a very good lap-top, camera and whatever else it would take to make what she does for ALL OF US easier for her. No expectations on what she would do (we know she's going to keep reporting) but a gift for what she's been giving us for quite awhile now.

Let me know what you think.........we're missing alot at the U.S.OPEN with her waiting till she gets back to the hotel..........and the GLASS CITY OPEN is around the corner.

Thanks, Steve

I'll kick it off with $50

I also will kick in 25.00
She is great for this forum and I have never met her. I have on the other hand had a chance to meet Keith some time ago in Akron. And he has a little of my cash so I feel its all going to famliy. LOL

$25 more from me. great stuff from her to us all.

I'll pitch in, too! I agree with everything said, she's a great beacon for us unlucky souls who can't make it to as many tournaments. I'm lucky enough to see her in person at the local DC tournaments most weeks so I'll give it to her in person. Great idea!

I think she should get a wireless network card for her laptop , instead of a brand new one .. well if ppl want to pay her a brand new one im sure she won't say no ;)

But quick easy and cost less would b ea wireless network card since im sure most of the Hotel in the state has wireless connection ?

My own advice !
Peace !

may not be possible

She said on another thread she has to use a windows 98 notebook for her work as she needs a real dos prompt. Sounds like it will not accept a wireless card.

She should try dual-boot then ;)

Im sure there's should be one cards out there that support win98 .. ohh well

I hope she get a new lappy then , better deal for her :D and she deserved it !

I am in for $25. I suggest that someone set up a PAYPAL account and get Jennie a debit card that she can use for her expenses.

Now IF some of that money get used to back the Earthquake then us AZB'ers want our jelly rolls....... ;'>

Hey, we could PAY for her wireless internet service. A verizon card is like a $150 and the service is like $90 a month. I think there are others that are cheaper. That way JAM could have internet wherever she goes. AZBs own reporter! Yeah! JAM - you in?

Wow, what a kind thought, and thanks to all of you for your good intentions. I can still report on this old gray mare of mine. It's convenient, and it gets the job done.

Actually, I thought utilizing the cell phones between me and SacTownPlayer (Jason) worked fine.

Tonight, I'm taking a small break in the room trying to recover from my horse taking a fall. Keith got shot down by the Texas Sylver bullet, 11 to 8, tonight at the 11:00 rounds. This time, he's a 2-game favorite by the linesmen.

The match started off kind of rocky, but Keith pulled out ahead, 2-zip. He continued to maintain a 2-game lead, but during the set, he had opportunities and didn't take advantage of them. He complained about the balls squirting, which means the balls were skidding on him. By his own admission after it was all said and done, he said to me that he thought he beat himself. Hopefully, he can rebound on the B side of the charts, tomorrow night at 11:00 p.m.

There are a lot of good players on the losers' side in all brackets. Corey Deuel and Reid Pierce are 3 brackets behind Keith's on the B side. If Keith had beat Sylver, he would have had to play Ralf Souquet, who NEVER missed a ball on Earl.

Sylver, known as a great one-pocket player, is a young man and full of confidence. He's been known to engage in a few action games and shows no fear. Throughout the whole match, Sylver played safety after safety and had Keith jumping balls like a jack rabbit. It was hard to get any rhythm going.

Johnny Archer spanked Mark Gregory, 11 to 1.

Troy Frank was down 3 to 1 on England's Newest Shining Star Raj Hundal who never shows up without his black head scarf. Then Troy surged forward with a lead, 5 to 3. He had a ball or two that skidded on him, and the match got tight, but I'm pretty sure that it was Troy who won on the infamous hill-hill.

Allen Hopkins lost to Young Gun Shawn "The Shirt" Wilkie.

Tang Hoa beat Mika Immonen, another thriller hill-hill.

This is the thirtieth U.S. Open, and every night, each lady who walks in the front doors gets a long-stem white rose. They're actually quite beautiful, not the 7-Eleven kind that are pre-wrapped. The smell really nice, too. :p

Well, we're going to lick our wounds tonight and head back on over before closing time at the conference center.

BTW, Diana of PoolPics by Hoppe has an extraordinarily nice computer with wiresless Internet. We were talking about maybe trying to do a blow-by-blow commentary on one of the upcoming matches. She got some really cool pictures. Check out this one with Golden Gloves Danny Dilibierto looking as if he's going to give Jim Wech of Canada a left hook! :D

I'd give him a left hook too if he still confused me with Billy Incardona after covering countless matches with him :p
Thanks for the great report!

I overheard that he lost his match tonight, so he's on the losers side.
