Thinking about trading in my seperate break & jump cues for an all in one Jump / Break cue. Wondering what other AZ'ers out there know about them. What is the best jump / break cue out there right now?
Is it better to have one with a hard layered leather tip or a phenolic tip?
Any good info would be much appreciated.

I just recently bought a Fury jump/break cue, and I am really impressed with it. It came with a one piece ferrule/tip, and I took it and had it flattened and put a white diamond on there. Now it is perfect. It breaks extremely good, and it jump easily. Plus I got mine for around 100$, cause it had been barely used at all. Definitely worth the money! I have had countless other jump/breaks, and this has been the best so far. I have hit with better ones, but they have always been custom made like Gilbert, TNT, Jacoby, and others. But for a bang for your buck deal, Fury is a good way to go! Just my 2 cents.

I have found that in a J/B cue, you have to use a light cue in order to have a cue that does both well. Traditional J/B cues are very butt heavy but jump well. Or the opposite. 15-16 oz. Will do both well. Only thing I've found to work very well. I have a 15.3oz J/B Keith Kustom that I love, but am going the opposite direction because I recently started shooting a heavier cue again. I feel that for the most consistancy in your break, you should break with as close to what you play with as you can get.

Good luck with your choice,

Justin

Love My Tiger

It does all I want it to do. Three cues in one really. Break, Jump & Long Jumps.

Originally came with the Icebreaker Tip (phenalic (sp)) ... but they have come up with a newer tip for those tournaments and associations that don't allow them. Not sure what they call it but Tony will have all that info.

He's a great guy and makes some of the best cues & shafts out there.

Personally I would contact Rick Howard and check out the Mace Jump/Break.

I currently have a Rick Howard Mace J/B cue and I love it for breaking. I have a Stealth 3 piece jump cue that jumps well and a custom Mark Bear jump cue with Purpleheart shaft. Today I was in Steve Lomax's shop getting a leather wrap put on on of my cues and I tried his jump cue and was instantly impressed with how easy it was to jump a full ball with it. Nice control and a good weight. They all work if you know how to jump. Try a few out if you can.
