Help with opinions about cue on ebay?

I actually know the maker of this cue. VERY prominent maker in the Michigan area. His name is Denis Deekmon. Phenomenal cuemaker. Makes cues that hit very similar to Southeast cues. This is an absolute STEAL, especially with a pre-cat 314 shaft!!! Those pre cat shafts were pure quality. Little known fact - the reason those pre cat shafts are so desirable is that they were actually made by Dennis Searing.

Buy the cue, Justin. You will LOVE it. Well, for at least a week, anyways.

Southeast Cues?

If you really just have to know ask the name of the tour or research pool tours in that area. Then, try to find anything you can online or in publications regarding the tour. Find the sponsors and do some more research... Usually tours are doing the most raffling, and the cues are mostly supplied by sponsors.

this cue is an import like was said, but if it weren't, it's always satisfying to put the pieces together and crack the case.

Searing made pre cat 314's?
Seriously? How could he keep up with orders.

Without a doubt the old 314's were awesome but at the rate of production it seems nearly impossible he could fill their demand

Shawn was just messing with me. It was an inside joke (making fun of the cues and shafts that I have loved in the past).

Yeah, best hitting cues ever, and maybe the most made fun of, and undervalued (by those who have never tried one out) cues ever made. Made by Nat Greene, from Clarksville TN.

I owned a Southeast cue years ago and it played great. Very solid hit. Wish I had it back.

History lesson - the vast majority of pre cat 314s were made by Falcon. And, as much as people swear by them, they were one of the worst made Predator shafts of all the generations. Ferrules would burn. Explode. Crack. They were prone to delamination. And a lot of them warped. The highest quality shaft I've seen out of Predator were the 314-2s that came out of the Samsara shop.

There's no such guy as Denis Deekmon in MI. I was referencing Dennis Dieckman. And Searing has never made a Predator shaft ever. I was just screwing with Justin on another one of his eBay fishing trips for his magic wand.

As often as Justin looks at cues, buys them, sells them, he should be the expert on all cues less than $300!

With all the buying and selling of random cues... what is your ultimate goal?

Still looking for an answer to this if anyone knows for real. Is he trying to find a hidden gem? Looking for something cheap that hits incredible? Looking for a cue that will make him play better at a dirt cheap price?

Or this is his goal, buy and sell as many cheap cues as possible. Not being rude, just curious.

I think in most cases, beauty and hit (and value to a certain extent) are all in the eye of the beholder. This makes the constant stream of "what do you think about XXXXXXXX cues" threads practically pointless, especially when it is about some random cheap cue over and over again. The real questions is "What to YOU (the buyer) think?" Afterall, it's going to be yours. None of my cue purchases were influenced directly by others. All were from my own background knowledge of the cuemakers. Sure that knowledge could have been gained from other people over time, but never was it "Should I get this cue?".

If I liked it, I bought it. For me, this isnt the case with just cheap cues. This is also with cues I spent 2k+ on. It's going to be mine, I should like it regardless of what others think, and that is another reason you will rarely see me post pictures of my cues (the recent, "what's in your case thread" was an exception)

Justin

If you are seriously in the market for a decent cue at a good price you should come to the expo. Stuff away whatever money you currently have for a cue and save it for the expo. You will be able to see and hit with cues first hand.

It's one of the most ideal cue shopping experiences. Not to mention you will be able to meet up with other AZers and shoot a ton!
