Help with pin size

I just got home and looked at the cue and the pin wasn't the size I thought it
Was any help would be much appreciated. Might even try ask cue marker section.

It's a jump break I picked up at Derby a few years ago, I have no idea who made it.

Looks like it has 12 or 13 threads.

Pin Size

That looks like a 3/8 x 10 to me. 3/8ths refers to the pins size in cross section and the 10 refers to how many threads per inch. Popular with flat faced wood to wood joints. I have no idea what or who the manufacturer is.

The pin doesn't look big enough to me to be a 3/8.... I was thinking 5/16 x something
 
Looks like 5/16X14 to me. But if you rub it, it might grow into 3/8X10.

Does the shaft have a brass insert?
Looks to me it does. 5/16 if it does.

Take to local hardware store use size chart, 1-2-3 does it......not being smart just providing info

Thanks people for the advice Monday I'm going swing by Rack 66 in Louisville and
see Brain Roberts he will know.
I need a new tip away so gives me a reason to go now.

I would agree just based on the looks. It's definitely a 5/16-something. Usually, when I build jump/break cues I lean towards the 5/16-18" simply because I know I'm not going to make a lot on the cue. At some point in building, you start looking at cost and how you price your cues accordingly and stop looking at the "Oh this is really cool" angle.

You can't decree such a thing.

No sense in getting all bothered by the board. If you can't take it, then don't visit us.

You ever see Dazed and Confused? 'Take it easy on...' can have the opposite effect.
 
Has anyone noticed that there are two different diameter pins here? Get a mike measure the diameter, than get a scale and see how many threads are in one inch. End of problem.

Ur absolutely right just isn't first time one particular person likes to be a smart aleck

5/16x14. 5/16 is the diameter in cross section. 14 is the number of thread per inch. measure the length and count the threads.:rolleyes:
 
The pitch looks too steep for 14 TPI to me.
Compare one of your Schons to it.

I'm in the 5/16-18 camp as well.
