Help with thoughts about Unknown pool cue?

I am wondering if anyone here can give me any thoughts about this unknown cue?

These are the only pics I have of the cue, and I do not know if it has any identifying marks on it.

The butt sleeve reminds me of the Mcdermott D-26 design. I know this is not a Mcdermott though, but that was my 1st thought when I seen the butt sleeve inlays.

Thanks for any thoughts / opinions about the cue, just based on these pics.

Has dome bumper. Seen those attributed to Schon of all things as well as Mali.

That should be Joss not Schon. Sry.

Can't tell without inspection and that's assuming I know what to look for besides flaws. Points and/or design in general are hokey to me. The implementation looks standard cut and paste. Consumer opinion.

You mean, flaws in workmanship, not abuse? I do not care about flaws due to abuse. Just trying to figure out if it is a good quality cue, or garbage. If even possible with these pics. Thanks.

Garbage? Depends who you ask. Many would say it is.

It's an inexpensive pool cue, a fancy-ish one. They do sell on eBay.

Someone would want it. Me? No.

This fits the old running joke we had on the forum like 10 years ago: The $35 pool cue. A member here sent me one. We had fun with it for a short while. Feel free to send it to me. I'll do a review and pictures. ;)

looks to be the same case as chop docs. so suspect it came from the same cheap maker.

it will certainly hold up a tomato plant.

Good eyes. That is the original case with my cue. Same rings on the cue as well it seems.

We could be on to something here...

Better looking to me. If straight still usable.
 
It will work as a cue, maybe $50 of value there, may sell for more to someone who does not know about cues much. You can tell by the cheap case it's in that it is not really a good cue, not a lot of people would put in anything worth much in a $15 cardboard case.

Then again, look carefully. Sometimes all is not as it seems in a glance, especially with poor pictures.

This is a Block Letter Joss with a variegated nylon wrap in what looks like an inexpensive box case. The wrap alone makes many pass it right up.

I have not uncommonly seen $1,000 custom cues in cheap box cases. Why? Who knows? Grandson inherits grandfather's cue, knows not what he has, sticks it in whatever case he likes that's cheap.

Huebler Custom Shop cues are commonly found in such cases, and they can command quite a price these days. Same with old Viking cues.
And, yes, occasionally a really big name custom.

If you ask me, always look past the crap.

When I bought my most recent "good" cue, I told the guy to keep the cheap box case in the pictures. I was worried he would try to ship it in that case.

That case is miles beyond the precious case. Anyone should be able to sit the difference. The mitered corners are enough for anyone who has built a box case to tell.

I did always hate that they all seem to use the same cheap latches, tho.

Yes, but many just see the wrap and move on.

IIRC that cue was advertised as a Block Letter Joss and many doubted it because of the wrap.

I have also seen crap cues in good cases. I got a nice leather It's George case with a cheap "titanium" cue in it. The cue was for sale, cane with the case. I bought it cheap for the case.

That looks like a hand-made, or at least better production, wood case, not one of the cheap cardboard or plywood things. Yes there may be someone that stuck a good cue in one of those cheap cases, but it's a lot more likely when looking at the overall clues that it is a cheap cue vs a good cue in a cheap case.
