Hello ,

I seen this pic of Cues made by Helmsetter and I am sure Adam Japan, They are replica's of Willie Mosconi Cues. I would like to find a replica of his Rambo , or just one of the Rambo Helmsetter copies would be neat, But Would like to find the WM-3 , That is a replica of the Rambo that Willie ran the 526 with. Would anyone here on the forum know were one of these can be found, here is a link to the pic and stroll to the Helmsetter Willie Mosconi section.

They haven't been made in yrs. You MIGHT find a NOS cue somewhere if you get lucky. Rarely see them or used ones for sale.

Wow Jim , that is a Beauty , That is what I was talking about . It is a beauty and Congrats . It looks like a real Rambo and that wrap brings it to that old school level

The second one from the top is the HOF ADAM Japan Balabuska replica and the 6th cue from the top is an ADAM Japan Jim Rempe cue.

Jim , You have a Sweet Collection. Very impressive and you have the greats represented. Those old titlest cues are sweet as well.

The Titlist on the bottom was made by Lloyd Bennett of A.E. Schmidt, Co. in St. Louis and I bought it brand new in 1973. I've had it almost 50 years.

The one right above it was made as a copy of an old Balabuska Titlist cue. It was a 1950s one-piece cue that I had converted by Mike Pancerny in Detroit.

The third cue from the top is CJ Wiley's old cue that he won the 1996 Million Dollar Challenge Tournament with.

I have a bunch of other stuff stashed in the closet. Becue, Jackpot, Murray Tucker, Mike Gulyassy, and a few more that I can't think of right now.

I need to get rid of some. I have a couple more new customs coming.

This is not the one you are wanting, but here is one that looks very similar to the WM-4 cue.

That seller just might be able to get you a WM-3, or maybe might have one. It is worth a try to send that seller a message, if you want. Good luck.

I imagine that Mcdermott hits really nice.

That is really cool that you have the cue that CJ Wiley won the Million Dollar Challenge with. I really like CJ. He seems like a really nice guy. I really love his road stories, that he talks about from time to time.

Your collection is super nice, and I really love the cases too.

I am a big admirer of Adam / Helmstetter cues.

The link says the cue was made by ADAM Japan. I'm pretty sure it is a Chinese-made cue.

Yeah, I believe the cues that he sells are from China too. I think the type of rubber bumper used on those cues gives that away, because the Adam Japan cues used a different shape rubber bumper.

I am sure they are really great quality cues though.

They are probably made in the same factory that Predator, Lucasi, and other high end production cues are made.

The CJ McDermott hits good, but I haven't hit too many with it. It still has the same tip on it from that tournament in 1996. That wasn't CJ's normal playing cue. It was the cue made for him by McDermott for the tournament and he only received it a day or two before the tournament and won with it. It was a prototype for a new line of cues they were going to make for him (CJ Wiley line) and this particular model is the RS-11. Once the tournament was over, he stashed it in the closet and I later got it from him. I had another shaft made for it and used it to try the cue out and play a few times. The butt and shaft are still in the original condition from the tournament. There is still blue chalk on the tip.

One of, if not the, best hitting cues in that bunch is the other McDermott (5th from the top), a C-14, that I bought new from the C-line (1980-84). I have had that cue almost 40 years and people have offered to buy it numerous times, but I've turned them down.

That is really cool, about the CJ Wiley cue. Very beautiful cue.

I understand that the C Series McDermott cues are even more rare then the D Series cues.

I love Mcdermott cues, and I have so much respect for them. Also, they have really great, and very friendly customer service.

I am going to guess that the bottom cue is either a Viking, or a Palmer. I might be completely wrong on both guesses though.

That is a really beautiful cue.

I wrote it in the post earlier.

"The Titlist on the bottom was made by Lloyd Bennett of A.E. Schmidt, Co. in St. Louis and I bought it brand new in 1973. I've had it almost 50 years."

I have two original shafts for it and another made by Scot Sherbine, of Proficient Billiards, who refinished it.

Here is a link with the history of that cue.

I think these cues were made by Helmstetter in Japan and are actually pretty good cues, much better than the Chinese cheapies.
