I have only been around him maybe 15 or 20 times but he's always been friendly or quiet . I have always thought he has a very strong game.that being said anyone have any stories to prove the awful things you hear,I mean all I hear is he's a jerk but no answer other than he hates losing. I don't know much but I didn't see any pro players jumping and smiling to their opponents after a loss. Not to offend just curious. I know I'm not fun to be around after a big loss and I work for a living. Just sayin

Oh and forgot to mention he case he reads this congratulations for a strong southern classic .

Maybe you meant the question differently, but there are a hundred or more people on AZ that have seen the Pinegar show live . Nobody needs to be showing any proof.

Just like hundreds of AZer don't need to be shown proof that Earl's antics are immature either

Freddie <~~~ or mine

I have played Jonathan in tournaments before and he has always treated me with respect. He will compliment a good shot and handles himself with class. Of course I also showed him respect. So I have heard of the other side of Jonathan, but fortunately I have not experienced it. It makes me wonder what the other ones with less positive experiences may have done to get him to act that way toward them???????

I've always enjoyed seeing "Hennessee from Tennessee" at tournaments. He's not only a good tournament competitor, but he enjoys engaging in a little action from time to time. He's not afraid to bet it up, either.

Seems like his game must be super strong right now to beat all those tough players in the Southern Classic. ;)

He has a good woman by his side. When folks have a happy home life, I think that helps them excel in other endeavors. Good for him! :)

Hennessee

John has had his ups and downs. He is playing super strong. His strongest game is bar table 9 or 10 ball. There are only two or three American players that can hang with him even. He has a standing offer for anybody to come to his pool room in Manchester TN and play even. There has been talk by a lot of players, but to my knowledge rob saez is the only player that has stepped up. That did not last long John beat him handily. He is a very emotional player and has a top gear that is hard for any top pro to fade. No one likes to lose. In the last year I have seen him play in many tournaments. He has a completely different disposition and has been very gracious to his opponents. You have to think about it this way also, opponents can provoke anyone it is not always his fault. Yes he is easily provoked but we all can be at times. Let him play and appreciate his talent!

Everyone hates to lose, but there is no need to be an ass when you do, or if things don't go your way. If you are such a good player then you need to also be a good role model. If kids started thinking that this behavior was acceptable, then pool would be a horrible place to be. Nobody has to like losing, but be gracious, shake your opponents hand and be on with your life.. Tourney or gambling, doesn't matter.

I fully understand people getting upset at their opponents for sharking, etc, but this comes down to those players needing to man up a little and just play pool without the antics. Both sides applicable.

Seems like a couple of years ago maybe in Alabama somebody chucked a ashtray at him and he wound up with some stitches in his head.

Pinegar played a tournament match in florida against earl and that was an interesting match to sweat. At one point henny was saying that earl was sharking him and a big argument ensued. Earl then started shooting one handed and using the other hand to hold it up and block out pinegar from his eyesight like a horseblinder.

I have never met the man, but they did the same thing to Mike Dechaine when he was shining his brightest. The better you do, the more haters you get. Dechaine is a solid guy, he is an asset to the sport, shows a lot of heart and emotion. He has changed a lot over a few years and for the better. Sadly for the haters he will be around for a long time.

Maybe Henny will get wind of these posts here, maybe he will change for the better....nah I expect he'd tell everyone to put it where the sun don't shine...just a hunch.

I youtube searched this. No luck. That musta been funnier the hell. I'm guess if Earl went one handed, he didn't win.

that's hilarious.

I'd love to see a ring game with Earl, Henny, Fabio and Mika. Talk about entertainment.

I once made Henny sign a agreement before we played. There was many rules in it, with one being only the loser could quit. Well, after about 20 hours he threw the 1000 I was loser on the table and quit. I was getting huge weight on a barbox playing 8 ahead and I'm pretty sure he ran one set out. Ray has a match I played him at the Cape and you could tell there was a history between us, and no, he didn't shake my hand after the match, but I shook his when he beat me the next time we played in a tourney. I know most players won't give their opinions on it, but I will say Henny is the toughest player to get along with that I have ever been around or played, and I have put the effort in to try. I still have a ton of respect for his game though. He's a monster on the barbox and very underrated on the big track..

The only story I have....short and sweet.....tourney at white diamonds....pick of the litter comes up....bid goes on Henny raises hand several times and finally wins...Chris ask him who he is going to buy.....he say myself....I am not sure about his antics....BUT HE HAS HEART.....

His "Antics" come in many forms and yes I have witnessed them and experienced them first hand!

He is a very talented player that has "NO FAITH" in his abilities and talent! He resorts to those antics out of FEAR and COWARDNESS! There is no other logical explanation for it.

Why turn a match into a fight? When you DISRESPECT your opponent in any way when unprovoked for some kind of PSYCHOLOGICAL advantage? It SCREAMS i have no faith in my ability to WIN! It says I need a little something something to give me the advantage! Regardless, of whether it is FAIR to your fellow competitors.

Tournament after tournament he indicates that he will try and win by any underhanded means necessary! Sadly enough if he put that much energy and concentration in the game on the table and not the head games he likes to play, he would walk away with a lot more W's in the win column.

All the sharking, all the chalk hoarding, all the wiggling and moving to INTENTIONALLY distract. The prolong breaks and absences! all the head games and insults to get your opponent ON TILT are really uncalled for and need to be better regulated!
