Emily has zero shot of winning this event or even coming remotely close. I am not being a "hater" but a realist. Allison is 1/9 to win this with the second choice being Brittany Bryant. I wouldn't sleep on McManus as she imo is the best NY player in the field.

The question is, is it THE Allison Fisher?? There's a girl who plays in the NY area who also has the same name but is in NO WAY a world beater. To be honest, even if Emily finished in the top 5 here, I wouldn't be too shocked.

Jenn Barretta is a stronger player than Emily. So is Borana. The only other player on this list that I know is Lenore Donovan and, while I haven't seen Lenore in a while, the last I did, I was spotting her for money. And I'm no 'pro' player by ANY means. lol

I'ts her life

Problem I see with her improvement.
She is around many skilled players. I know most of them, good people. MEN
Most men are more than happy to help women with their game, either to be helpful or you guys know the other possibilities. This creates a problem for improvement.
Women are Multitaskers. Her head is full of different techniques and applications of many aspects of the game. The problem is all this info is usually good for the one giving it because it works for them, now times that by 30.....Walla, you have a mental mess even though she doesn't realize it. You need to take a student through certain steps to improvement. Each step clicks and their game jumps up.
She needs a mentor / coach. Just one person in her corner that she trusts can take her to where she wants to go... Consume all the info you can, but listen to me for now...there must be trust.
What she needs for improvement.
Better stroke technique
Better Stroke rhythm
Better game rhythm
Pattern play ( Big Time ) and learn how to use plan B when she screws up plan A pattern to get back in line, quickly and decisively. Full confidence to make a shot and get the back in line.
Aiming, sighting, math, banks, few systems, breathing, seperation of mental and physical distraction.
Killer instinct... pushed to put the nail in the coffin of an opponent
Etc. Etc. Etc.
If she wants to be respected as a PERSON, and a player, by most people on the planet, KEEP YOUR CLOTHES ON.
If she thought of this on her own, well that's on her. If she has someone in her ear telling her this is a good idea, SEEK OTHER ADVISE.
I hope she proves me wrong, from what I see, at the rate she is going. Many moons will pass before she can run packages and become a 100 ball runner in straight pool.
P.S......She also needs to learn 3 cushion....pronto

Yes, it was her which is why I said she was 1/9 to win it. This would be terrible if she did not as this field is not strong at all unless those Asians are world beaters. Jen is definitely stronger as it is insulting if anyone would think B or E are near her. I don't know if I'd agree that B is much better. I could see them going 50/50 if they played 10 times.

They may be around the same speed (Borana and Emily) for all I know. But based on what I've seen, it seems like Borana has a better cueball and a smarter game.

Granted, I've seen very little. :-)

I wonder if the womens game would benefit from dropping the Pro status and becoming an amateur body, they may attract more entries.

No they need bigger prize money. There are many good woman pro's that could make it a good event but their not going to play for chump change. So instead we got a bunch of b/c players and Allison that yes was 1-9 in that Field.
Back to Emily she needs to focus on the game not on prancing around for the camera and crowd
