Here is her speed... video

Diane Lane is my ex guys. Keep it clean. I'll say this about her:

She was the greatest piece of ass I've ever had, and I've had them all over the world!!!

Clean would be that she has a great personality,I bet she does.

Since this is the only time I have got to see her shoot more than a few shots I wont speculate as to her speed. But she does look to have some decent fundamentals. She adjusts her power by adjusting her length of stroke. She doesn't allow her elbow to drop much at all which tells me she has been "worked on". I thought her break was decent but could use improvement.

What stuck out most about her game was that she seemed to really rush herself. Obviously she wasn't playing a serious match and I am sure her focus is better when she is in a match that counts but this is how bad habits are developed. Basically I thought she was good and will probably get a lot better with experience.

I would have enjoyed the opportunity to play her.

This isn't really constructive.
She spoke out because she felt like females were not given much respect on this forum.

Gosh, I dunno where she gets that idea.

Guys on here have avatars of a pile of fat chicks in thongs,
or a woman with water squirting out of her ass... nobody cares I guess.
Our sole mod jumps in the thread to basically treat her like she's being hysterical
and it's all in her head. Not even pretending impartiality.

The truth of what she has to say, doesn't really hinge on her speed.
Which was bound to get dismissed anyway... for some guys on here,
anything less than a six pack is amateur hour.

You are right that this isn't really constructive. But that's probably the ONLY part that you're right about.

Emily didn't start that thread because she feels women pool players aren't given much respect. She started that thread because a select few of her friends aren't given much respect. And its true. They aren't. I'm not going to name names, but it seems there are a handful of NY female players who are very hellbent on having the world perceive and actually call them "pros" and, as such, give them the same respect that they would Allison Fisher, Kelly Fisher, Karen Corr, Jasmin Ouschan, etc., etc.. The grand irony here being that these NY females very clearly do NOT play at that level yet. Granted, the names I just listed are the cream of the crop. Still, there are about 10-15 others I could mention who may not play at Karen's level per se, but still play MUCH stronger than some of these ladies who are determined to be given that same respect.

The three names attached to the other thread (and it should be noted, were attached by Emily herself) were Emily Duddy, Borana Andoni, and Jennifer Baretta. It should also be noted that Jennifer had no place being brought up at all because she is a much stronger player than Emily is and has earned her title as a 'pro'. Borana also plays fairly well from what I've seen. Is she a 'pro' level player? I don't know. I don't really know her. But I also don't see her setting up websites claiming such. They may exist. I don't really know. But it seems like Borana is determined to get to that level of play by putting in the hard work and the time it takes to get there.
Some of these other ladies just seem to think that having a sponsor makes them a 'pro'. And while technically, that may be true to a degree, it doesn't mean you deserve to be categorized with some of the best players in your field. It doesn't mean you deserve to be afforded the same level of respect.

Make no mistake. This had NOTHING to do with hating women players or women pros. It had nothing to do with 'hating' at all. It was more about someone who wants to be a pro so badly that she seems to be skipping the 'get your game to that level first' step.

I get your point. I am in full agreement and in support of having female pros. I hope they continue to grow. I believe that they are capable of being every bit as good as any male pro.

I also believe that if you are going to have pictures taken of yourself in your underwear on a pool table, then you should understand why some people will think you have tried to use your sexuality to be fast tracked to professional pool and that people will resent it to one degree or another.

I also think that given how they have been treated in the past, some female players may feel that this is what it takes to make it in the pool world these days. If so the pool world has a lot of growing up to do.

I base my opinion on how well a person plays, not their beauty of lack of for that matter.

Whatever happened to not wanting to be known?

Sorry, but everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame, whether they want it or not.

I guess my earlier response about not taking someone seriously if they do the glamour photo thing, is that I've never seen the real top women players do it: Allison Fisher, Karen Corr, Jasmine Ouschan (she certainly could), Kelly Fisher, etal. It makes sense to capitalize on your looks IF you're a champion. If not, it seems kind of tacky. Of course, I'm a guy and we look at the world differently.

The bottom line is - she's really not that good. And judging by her OP in that other thread I'm wondering if she hasn't quite yet realized where her game really stands. I have a hard time believing this, when you consider who she gets to see play regularly, but what other explanation is there? After watching her play a little, I think any decent shortstop in the country would beat her fairly easily.

Maybe this seems harsh, but remember she is putting herself out there for public consumption. She was on the cover of InsidePool Magazine. The thing is, almost everybody that has picked up a cue and thought they could play a little bit, at some point they had to face reality and say you know what I'm really not that good in the big scheme of things. If you don't do this, you will overlook your weaknesses and you will never get as good as you could have otherwise.

I guess I just don't understand all the PC stuff. Is everybody supposed to say that she really is a great player when she clearly is not?

Does she have some potential? I think so.
Does she have A LOT of work to do? Yes.
Does telling her she is as good as Jennifer Barreta is do her any good? No.

For me her game looks like it is just now at the point where it becomes hard work. I think a lot people that have played this game have quickly gotten to the point where she is now. The question then becomes, is she really willing to do the hard work? The first couple of years are easy because you improve so fast. I'll be interested to see where her game is in 5 years.

I guess we will find out this weekend. She is entered in the Womans Open 9ball tournament at the SBE. Only 14 entries including herself. If there is a time to shine I'd say that this is it.

respect not earned is worthless as are published player rankings based on current (or lack thereof)tour performance

lots of chickies look good holding a cue

Where are you seeing this?
When I go to the SBE site and look at the women registered in the women's division, there are 152 entries... none of which are Emily.

Not saying you're lying. More like, I'm looking in the wrong place cause there are a few other names I would have expected to see here, but they aren't there.

You are looking at the amateur events that is why. Check the field under the pro events tab & you will see the women entered. Here is the field:

Borana Andoni
Jennifer Barretta
Brittany Bryant
Lenore Donovan
Emily Duddy
Yomaylin (Smiley) Feliz
Allison Fisher
Dawn M Fox
Dawn Hopkins
Li Jia
Erin McManus
Denise L Reeve
Junko Tsuchiya
Judie Wilson

Emily has zero shot of winning this event or even coming remotely close. I am not being a "hater" but a realist. Allison is 1/9 to win this with the second choice being Brittany Bryant. I wouldn't sleep on McManus as she imo is the best NY player in the field.
