Is it not possible to get this thread deleted about Mully Now I'm Pissed, it's in the passed but someone lurkers keep beating the dead horse. I am sick and tired of looking up and seeing this post where someone wants to divert the attention off of the game and focus on negative energy. No Mully I do not want your help with a label but thanks anyway, some people are concerned with proving to themselves that their right. While others want to learn about the game (Straight Pool.) I figured the readers that I offered this product to were more purist than critics of my less than savvy computer skills.
If someone disagrees with a theory I have in our 14.1 DVD than feel free to say so, I do welcome all questions. But if your gonna talk about how I am wrong to be a christian or how my label does not look pretty than I hope you did not purchase the product. I do hope the disc finds residence where someone really wants to learn and has a genuine interest in playing better. It's easy to get distracted from learning and come up with an excuse as to why you need to help someone look better and mold them to your standards. If your talking about me spiritual beliefs and or a poor label my hypothesis is your probably not even a twenty ball runner, this does not make you a bad person but more someone who just likes to state their opinion and seem important. I have not had a good label in a long time folks but I am trying and I hope the people on this forum will just stick to whether or not they like the DVD rather than senseless jargon about how it's packed or how creative the label is. W0W it never ceases to amaze me how people can divert themselves from actually learning the task at hand. If your here to talk labels and belittle my christian faith than god bless you, if you would like I will say a prayer for you cause as of now your head was only made to hold your ears apart, on the other hand if u have a relevent question that pertains to the discipline of 14.1 than I'm all ears.
Thanks for any feedback pertaining to the subject solid az'ers and again I hope I have helped someone who has heart, desire, and perserverence to pay better and as a result have more fun.

Hi, thanks for the DVD. We were watching it at Jimmy's in MN last night. Two players to came up and asked "what is this game?". They watched a few racks, and played 14.1 for awhile after. So two new 14.1 players. :thumbup:

What someone's religious beliefs are means nothing when it comes to this kind of thing. It's not like you were preaching or anything in the commentary.

While packaging something professionally does help in a marketing aspect, everyone who bought this knows what they are buying already, so doesn't need a pretty label.

I learned things from your DVD, so thanks for making it! I might even break my 50 ball barrier this year.
 
Well, Danny, for what it's worth I started a thread asking some very good questions about your run and your technique and you did not reply. I can only assume you're holding some sort of grudge towards me. Not that I blame you, but you're saying if people want to discuss the disc etc..., well, there are some good questions for you in the thread titled "Questions and Comments on the Harrimon 280" that I was hoping you'd get to.

I think the thread should be deleted. That thread contains comments that are insulting - mostly from people that have nothing to offer this forum besides their negativity.

Mully - it would have been a good gesture on your part to ask the moderators to lock, move, or delete the thread. IMO, the thread should not have been started in the first place. You could have sent Danny a PM, but you chose to take a flame thrower to him publicly. Some of your comments were extremely nasty and they generated negative comments from other people - and then it spread like wildfire. Then the topic turned to Danny's Christian beliefs - and IMO - that is going well out of the way to add more negativity into this situation - and that was completely uncalled for.

I sat back and thought about this for a few days - and I have to ask you, Mully - what did you hope to gain by starting that thread? Were you seeking any kind of resolution, or were you simply trying to attach all of this to Danny's name and his DVD? Were you in some way trying to sabotage his sales? It makes no sense to me at all. To me, your comments and criticism came across as hateful and vindictive. After taking time to calm down, I can clearly see that you didn't think this through before hitting the "submit" button.

This forum is for learning about the game of 14.1, not complaints or criticism or theological beliefs. That thread is still out there for everybody to see, and it will effect the sales of Danny's DVD. There is very little you can do to change that, Mully. The negative comments are already out there and it has been viewed over 2000 times - that is some serious damage. An apology won't make it better - and it will make other players think twice about producing future DVD's. Maybe that is why Danny has ignored your questions. Think about it.

All of this nonsense got started because Danny wanted to share a 280 ball run with fellow players. Danny went through all of this trouble to positively teach people about the game. IMO, the negative backlash is pathetic, petty, shallow, and immature.

There are two sets of people -

A)Those that will purchase the DVD and be appreciative of everything Danny shows them

B) Those that will nitpick about everything because that is all they are capable of doing

Form two lines.

I know where I stand.
 
I didn't know you could lock a thread. Good idea. But Danny, I wouldn't worry. I think the thread is dying and will disappear like almost all threads do.

Well, I spend a lot of time in the For Sale/Trade section here. I've seen a lot of deals go bad with crooked sellers screwing the people that are trying to buy something. When the disc arrived it was just a plain old burnt disc and I jumped the gun without knowing anything about Danny and gave him a piece of my mind. I felt like I was getting screwed. I'll leave it at that.

I did mail Mr. Wilson about it. His PM box is full. Not much I can do about that. And no offense David, but posting this here is just the same as getting that thread going again over there. You could have gotten me through PM too. I apologized to Danny and other than him not replying to my thread he said he forgave me for it. If he holds a grudge then there's not much I can do. I don't blame if he does, regardless of his religious beliefs he's human. It's his right to turn the other cheek or not. And as for his beliefs or anyone else's, as long as they aren't being pushed down my throat I feel that anyone can believe in what they want. I never questioned his beliefs and I never commented on them. That's his business and his alone.

Well, as you can probably see I haven't posted anything in that thread since Danny explained the situation and accepted my apology. As far as I'm concerned that thread is finished for me. I've got nothing to say on that matter anymore. And if Mr. Wilson will clear his PM box I'll gladly ask him to delete that thread.

One other thing. I have always been a positive member of this 14.1 group. I've discussed a lot of things with a lot of people and always felt that I was well accepted in here. I made a mistake flaming Danny. But let the first person that has never acted in haste in their life cast the first stone. I think it would be pretty wrong to cast me out from the group from one mistake. I surely wouldn't do that to anyone. But, if you guys don't want me involved in this section anymore than I guess I'm out. I still think it's wrong to totally dismiss me over one error in judgment though.

I've been gone for a few days, but I for one am a 14.1 geek and only care about the content. :thumbup:

Maybe I'll ask you about a few things if I see you in New Jersey.

I hold no grudge toward Mullman, I have been away from the computer a few days. BUt when I looked on the 14.1 the old familiar forum ways stand tall to me. There was the most negative post that had been made about my disc and it seemed to be in the limelight. I probably won't do another dvd and try to sell it on this forum, but I was not avoiding your questions Mully I have just been busy preparing myself for the World Championships in New Jersey. I would appreciate if having the infamous "Now I'm Pissed" thread removed but I don't know how to get a hold of the forum moderaters. Again I hold no grudges but would like the thread erased, which I hope does not entice someone to promote it more.

As far as answering the question about the spin and the effects it has on the rack I answered that at the end of my thread talking about the 280 ball run available now. It is a bit confusing but I never learned how to use the cue table product even though I'm sure it's a good one.

Small point, but symptomatic.

As soon as you first posted your reaction to your purchase, I knew where we were headed. See my prediction:

"Why don't you just chase Danny off the forum with your bs, "mullyman"?"

and the end result:

I think I am going to take the advice of a wise man and take a vacation from this forum for a while.

I was stalling around waiting to order your DVD until I had a new PayPal account. Now I have it and I ordered today. I'm an old 14.1 enthusiast although not a very good player. Maybe this will help me. I know that I will enjoy it regardless.

By the way, I'm only interested in the content. I'm disgusted by the petty arguments here, the bashing, the haters, and anyone who would belittle another's religious beliefs. All I'm interested in is seeing that run and hearing your comments and ideas. Good luck in the tourney...Tom
 
Danny I bought the DVd and thought it was chock full of info and was well worth the cost. BTW - I posted a basic review here on AZ and tried to give it some props without being a spoiler. Thanks for taking the time to put this together, I know this DVD will be a used by many 14.1 players in the years to come.
