IMO, Cigarettes + Guinness + throat cancer = just a matter of time.

You can take Guinness out of the equation... that's a good beer LOL:D
 
Sadly this is nothing new for the Hurricane. The way he looks these days though I'm amazed he has the strength to play let alone hit someone! I think Blackjack's comment about it being a matter of time for Higgins is very accurate. It's a shame, he was a great, natural player.

Sadly true, my childhood hero sometimes makes earls antics look pretty mild indeed.

Higgins made snooker and a lot of guys rich.
 
i have to report that all is not as reported with this incident
jimmy white who was higgins opponent during the charity match called our sports radio station last night to confirm exactly what happened.

he said that higgins was messing about and playing to the crowd as it was supposed to be a fun match. the referee was being a "jobsworth" ie trying to treat it like a world final.
jimmy even spoke to the ref to remind him of the actual non importance of the proceedings but to no avail, after one such silly call by the ref higgins walked past him and "jabbed" him in the stomach next thing the ref jumped at higgins and started to strangle him.
jimmy thought the whole thing was pathetic and laid the blame directly at the door of the ref and reported that although the match ended prematurely he and higgins stayed to sign autographs.

also just in case you thought higgins is a nobody now he knocked in a 142 break last week in another of the exibitions.

i really miss him.

i think its the first player i ever saw playing a ballgame on tv. Right before jimmy white. I liked his controversial character, his 'casual non serious' atitude, his game, everything. back then i was young and i thought that drinking beer during a match is cool. :p then i saw jimmy white play, and he became my #1. i think jimmy should get one of higgins his worldtitels. :)

its not up to me to judge him, and this incident wont change my opinion. He was one of my heroes and he will always be. ilness, alcohol and age can mess up a person alot.

anybody has a video of the exhibition match perhaps. ?

whirlwind vs huricane... must have been a nice match to see. brings back memories....

mmm i miss snooker :p

ps craig, could u change that avatar? im going from thinking every 10sec about S**, to every 2seconds and having a hard time at work concentrating... ;)
