Not a live stream this one but high definition video on demand snooker streaming.

It will buffer if you do not have 6meg broadband.

We launched the first trial last week and are looking into offering more HD from events in future, so far there are two short videos which show what can be done with HD on the web.

Recorded at 720p HD

Please let me know your thoughts.

Howard,

This is not Matt. This is from Europe. I haven't figured out how to view it yet, but I'm working on it.

I have been toying with doing some HD on demand stuff here in the U.S.

Takes the $$$ for the cams is all.

My bad then, I thought Matt said he was renaming himself as Cuesport . Whoever it is , it looks good... Thanx Ray for the correction

Video looks good, the biggest problem is this for anyone who thinks it takes just cameras. You need to have an internet connection of 1500kbps or better, the user has to have a fast download speed to view it also. Most pool rooms do not have a 1500kbps upload speed and most are around 500kbps or less. Many people do not have the download speed at home to view the HD streams without it buffering so the problems that come up with it being user friendly are not making HD practical at the moment. I do believe that within a year or so it all might change as things seem to be getting faster on the internet but we will see.

You're thinking of streaming HD. I said on demand. Big difference. The on-demand still requires a fast download.

Thanks for the comments.

To confirm my name is Pete Williams and I am the owner of Cuesport TV in the UK.

These video files are also huge hence they are quite short. We will be trialling a live stream in HD streaming at 2meg later in the year.

As Lenny points out, upload speed is a problem for live, and download becomes the issue for video-on-demand but this is the future. The Internet will have to catch up!

I am going to make some more HD videos available very soon.

I believe we will see internet download and upload speeds increase, things are in the works so it is just a matter of time. The streams right now are pretty good surprisingly for not being HD.

I did a stream recently that had a 2.8 mb upload available. Of course I wasn't able to use it all because of viewers speed limitations and my equipment.

I think most of us $1,000's of dollars or more away from doing the best we can with what we currently have. Technology is changing so fast that we may never catch up...imo.
