High Dollar Merry Widow Cues

There is no magic wood or cue maker wizardry. To be honest if u just want a stick to shoot with that will last possibly a lifetime....just about any cue around 500$will do just fine. Collectors are the ones that drive prices up.

Hell when I was In High-school I could buy a nice 1970 origional chevelle or nova for a little over 15k. Collectors have jacked the values up so high. No regular joe can afford them now. Hell I remember when ford came back out with the gt40 (GT) a dealership down the street had 2. If I had the money I would have bought both of them for 115k a piece. and put one on blocks and crate it...in heated storage. And drove the other A little.
The one in crate with zero miles would be worth over half a million and the one that got drove some every year would be worth 300k.
According to collectors.
My honest opinion they are just cars. Nobody really cares.
Same deal with the cues.

Simply looking at inflation, your numbers are pretty accurate. 1 1970 dollar is worth about $7.75 today.

Just wondering... In my mind an Merry Widow is a Plain Jane cue. Maybe a simple ring at the joint vs a "sneaky peat".

Another thing I'm wondering.
Isn't "Fancy Merry Widow" an Oxymoron?

Cues are made of wood. A Merry Widow has no decoration other than the wood. Since I like wood they are my favorite

IMO they are some of the best looking cues made. I understand the craftsmanship and attention to detail in cues with points and inlays. I think I own one of the nicest Merry Widow cues out there.
