Grandfather brought it back from a fishing trip to Alaska In 1937, Grandma gave it to us a couple of years ago. You should see the pick of the Fish they got, WOW. And yes, they are protected, but you can still buy Walrus tusk, there are some Ivory/antler/horn dealers that sell some. From what I understand, the eskomos can sell the tusk because they use the whole animal. The same goes for Tibes in africa they use the whole elephant, so they are alowed to sell the tusk.

Great Question, glad I could help clear that up.

Have a nice day. Oh, and say hello to Mr. E for me.

Fantastic Cue Bryan! Is walrus ivory less prone to cracking than elephant ivory?

To be honest I don't know. Time will only tell. This ivory has a lot of figure, grain, it looks like it would break when hitting a ball, but we put walrus ferrules on a cue over a year ago for a very good friend of ours who begged to have them. and he hit's balls warp speed, and no chipping or cracking, so I think it will hold up great.

I shot with this cue the other day, and WOW, I love the hit. My brother and I really like the way this cue looks. It has a solid, Crisp hit. The shafts are nice and dark.

Thanks for your kind words, this cue will be a great player for someone.

Yeah i love the iridescent grain pattern in the Ivory. Looks better than elephant ivory imo. If i had the funds it would be mine:thumbup:

Joints cracking

Walrus ivory is much less likely to crack. Elephant ivory is in lines and very heat sensetive. Walrus form is like specs bonded together which makes it much less likely to crack. Of course you can abuse anything hard enough to screw it up. But it will take alot more to crack walrus.

Oops forgot

The way he got the ivory is legal, but it would be a good idea to
get a letter from the maker just in case you get hastled.
