Hello fellow Az'ers,
I am sick and tired of seeing people messing up other people's threads, mines included.
Whenever you start a thread try to respect that fellow member. Do not say that the cue plays bad or the price does not look good. Keep the comments for yourself and if all possible stay positive :)
I recently posted a thread on here about trading a couple of cues for 1 or 2 IPhones. My thread became a discussion on how IPhones are bad and opensource phones are the way to go. That was not the point. If you are posting something unrelated to the transaction, keep the comments to yourself. I know I might get some bad rep for posting this thread but this was just my 5 cents.
I even had windowsrefund using profanity on a pm he sent me and over the phone as well just because I liked IPhones
This is a free country, so if I am looking for an IPhone, Justis Case or even some Nike shoes in trade for cues do not say how bad the things you're looking for are. If it is not your business, stay away or at least be positive.
We already have a negative economy as it is, we do not need the extra hassle.
Thanks for reading.

How about this?

Rep for you!! (good rep)

I always try to voice my opinions in a PM to the person, rather then on the open forum, that way I only make a fool out of myself to one person instead of the whole world. Just my two cents.

ur wanting to trade cues for an iphone in a public forum and u expect ppl not to bust bust ur balls? ur kidding right

Point taken. The guy wanted me to stay away from Iphones. Come on, my thread was just a regular thread that included pool related items. I was not selling or trading an unrelated product. Even Mr. Wilson posted a comment about hijacking the thread.

wright on brother, If it doesn't pretane to you keep out. here;s some more rep.

That is precisely my point. If you are thinking about making a non-related or bad comment? Just don't do it and keep out!

The issue is a good one, but there is additional room for more "policy". Like if you ask about a cue and reflect some interest, at least PM the guy back and say, "thanks, but no thanks." I'm sure there are a dozen other behaviors that could be mentioned....

Could not agree more. But the issue was... I have several cues that I would like to trade for a certain item. Either you have the item and you are interested on a trade or you are interested on the cues I have and make an offer or ask for a sale price.

I gave you bad rep because you told me I was smoking something and I was on drugs! That is the reason I gave you bad rep. I respect everybody here.
Actually you are a rookie around here and have 0 ITrader. I would suggest you to refrain on your comments since you do not seem to have a clue what we are talking about.
If you would have bought or sold something in this forum I bet that you would post good comments instead of the misspelled silliness you wrote.
Actually live in California, but I forgot that you do not know how to interpret avatar's info as well.

Right On Rep for you Buddy!

If you like iPhones thats your business I will not use anything else except a iPhone. And your post sure does not need to get hijacked.

I'm all for no-hijacking, but criticizing the price or the playability is sometimes relevant. Posters should be free to discuss issues that are pertinent to the thread.

You're missing the point. Pricing as well other issues should be discussed privatelly. Saying he has the wrong price or the cue plays bad is negative, therefore wrong. If I think my cue is worth 500 instead of 100, don't buy it. No need for negativity. Buy the item for 100 some place else.

I have to disagree. The free flow of information helps everyone in the long run. It makes for more informed buyers and sellers and a better marketplace. See the Mike Sigel cue value thread for an example of why list price isn't always accurate.

In the case of the Mike Sigel cue, the cue was not placed up for sale, per se, but rather he asked the specific question "How much is this cue worth?"

I have to agree with Bestkites and the others on this issue. If you feel that a cue is overpriced or you don't personally like the way those cues play, etc, it should be expressed in a PM rather than in public. It may be a price negotiation point for you to use privately, but it should not be made in public. That detracts from the person's sales opportunity and devalues the cue. Also, very often, not everyone would agree with another person's evaluation of a cue.

Let the seller and potential buyer work out the price among themselves. The forum is made up of knowledgable folks. If the cue is overpriced or a dog, it won't sell until the price is adjusted to a realistic market value.

I agree that are exceptions to the rule, no doubt. All I am saying is that you need to be carefull with what you say and how you say it and if it is in context.
Hope my comment helps clarify that. :D

While an argument can be made for either side.. I would hope that the general consensus of the community is that it's rude to hijack a sales thread with impertinent information. If you see a cue being sold that you know is warped, well that's different. If you see a retail cue being sold for twice what one could pay elsewhere.. also different. But if you think 'all samsara cues feel funny', or 'iPhones suck', you should probably STFU and start your own thread.
