in an attempt to keep some of the dust and chips under control, i hill billied this cover for my lathe. made of 1 by 12's and 1/4 inch plexaglass, couple hinges. at one time i had a vacuum hooked up to one end to try to remove some of the dust, but i disconected it. [ you can see the hole , now covered with duc tape ] the 2 round disc at the front cover 2 holes, they are attached at the top with wood screws. if i need to make any adjustments, just push them to the side and reach in, when you remove your hand gravity takes over and closes the hole.
when i am done cutting for that day clean up is a lot quicker as most of the chips are in one small area.
