Historical marquetry cues help!

To an extent yes, originality is lost, as is historic value.

But restoration is not out of the question. They could be spliced with shafts, or even made into a two piece. I have seen very nice examples.

I bought the cue in your link new, I believe in 1825.
I was just a kid then, in my youth.
I started my cue collecting in about 1828, and still have one.
Got it from a French Prince.
A one-piecer, the shaft section is as big as a broom and so crooked
I can shoot around corners with it.
Sure is handsome, though!
I sold it to WC Fields in the late 1940s.
