I am curious about the history of a joss cue i own from the early 80s. I know Nick Varner owned it as Dan Janes made it for him along with a few others in a special line. If anyone can put me in touch with Nick i would really appreciate it, but i dont want to bother him either. Just want to shed some light on the history of the cue.

In the early 80’s, joss made a special set of 5 cues for nick-they were sold at his pro shop at rack and cue in oboro-i owned two of them a njv 2 and a njv3-the latter had his initials finely crafted in the butt-I gad a Polaroid years ago showing all 5 but sent it to the buyer of the cues I sold to him

Why not ask Danny Janes, I'm sure they have all the info in their files.

you asked this the other day in a different thread. they were made for nick to sell. i doubt nick knows the history of each cue. he got em and sold em. may have used one, maybe not. Nick is a super nice guy and would probably happily fill you in if he can.

Saw the PM you sent to me, OP.

You're right.....I had one like yours, a long time ago. Got it refinished and rewrapped by Scot, at Proficient Billiards.

Came back perfect, and as measureman states above...it's not a gold mine cue.

Likely worth about $450-$600, if it's pristine. Some of the value will depend on straightness, shaft diameter, etc.

They're really nice cues. Always have liked Joss.

LOL,and just who might that be?
I think again you are trying to convince yourself that you have something really special here.
We on AZB have seen this scenario many times.
