I have made much progress since the start of this project.

The soon to be billiards room on the day we signed the contract on our new house

First things first... got a great deal on a used GCIII and set it up with the help of my Dad.

As it looks today. I started the project on Thanksgiving last year and we just had the carpet installed and the table set up by a professional with new Simonis cloth.

I still need to do some finish work and some decorating, but I wanted to get some thoughts on how it looks so far.

Thanks!

Very nice looking room. You have plenty of room around the table and room for a bar and furniture. Enjoy it. Johnnyt

The room is B-E-A-utiful. I agree with Johnnyt in that you appear to have some room for some fun extras, so keep us posted on that! I absolutely LOVE that light fixture above the table.

Thanks. The light is a diamond light that came with the table. At the end of the room you can't see in the photo there are 2 billiards stools and 2 arcade games. I'll try to post a photo of that later.

i luv that light type.

was wondering,,,,,,,aside from the rug, you still might get reverberation and echo off the bare walls maybe?

I don't think so - but it is such an improvement from the bare concrete that I may just not notice it.

Wow!
I am impressed with all the work and the results. Simply incredible and a beautiful room.

So when can we visit?

Sweet. Good choice of colors. The wall lighting is a nice touch too. Now if you can just find some good bar stools. Remember, if you put in wall shelves, make them very high. Otherwise they will interfere with cueing. Better to use small tables against the wall. Like a coffee table.

WOW that looks absolutely stunning!! I cannot begin to tell you how jealous i am right now lol.

Congrats and well done on a great job.

I'm really happy with the paint color. My Dad thought it would look like a bordello, but he likes it too. I painted it with 2 coats of primer, 2 coats of some stuff they call 'gripper' and 3 coats of red. It almost killed me.

My Dad and I did all the work except for the mud and sanding on the sheetrock. That was well worth the $600 I spent to have someone else do it. (Thanks Dad! I could not have done it without you!)

The lights came from Ikea and only cost like $6 each. I was really happy to find them, they add a really nice mood to the room

Now the question, how much did this project run you?

Not that it matters, the value added to that space os well worth anything you invested in it =/ I'm just curious :)

(waits for the Master Card "priceless" quote to follow...)

I love that big, squishy carpet too. I'd be playing bare-foot and be even shorter :D

Well, I got a super sweet deal on the table: GCIII with the light, super aramith balls, 4 lucasi house cues, the diamond light and 4 of the stools you see for $1300. The carpet was about $1800, and my Home Depot bills were probably $4000. I did get almost all of the sheetrock for Christmas and my birthday (Thanks Mom & Dad!) and we paid to have the sheetrock finished for $600 so not including the table or the arcade games, probably about $7000 total which I'm guessing is about 1/3 of what it would have cost me to have it all done by a pro. There is another small 12 x 12 room that you don't see that is included in the price for my wife's office.

And yeah, the carpet is super cushy.

Yeah, like a bordello! Now send us some photos when the "girls" are there.

height of light?

Great looking room. Could be perspective, but it looks like the light is pretty high up relative to table. I wonder if you have room to lower the light abit?
