I am currently living in Costa Rica but I am thinking of moving back to SC and will need a new table. I would probably only have room for a 4 X 8. A friend of mine has an Ohausen (sp) but I would like other recommendations from you experienced guys. So, please tell me what you would do in my situation. Any opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Depends on a lot of variables. What is your commitment to pool (tournaments, leagues, action, etc. as opposed to being a recreational player)? Also, what can you afford without getting yourself into a bind? Are you budgeting in a decent light fixture?
Olhausen makes a fine table for sure, but I'd look hard at a Diamond. If you're just a recreational player, a Brunswick 4x8 will suffice. Upgrade the slate and cloth.

I have an Olhausen Remington 4 x 8 with leather pockets. It all depends on how much room you are going to have. I'd have preferred a 4 1/2 x 9 as that's what I played on for about 25 years but space and price were a factor. I've moved my table from the original house three times, always having the space for it over the last 16 1/2 years. Depending on where in SC you will be, you may be playing a lot on 3 1/2 x 7 bar tables outside your own home so a 4 x 8 would be a good choice, in my opinion. I hardly ever venture out myself for reasons I won't get into I haven't played in even local events in a good many years now. That MAY change in the near future
There used to be 4x8 Gold Crowns all over the South....good tables.

Under $10,000
With that budget you can get almost anything you want. You should be able to get a used Gold Crown for under $2000 or a used Olhausen for around $1000. Maybe another $1000 to set up, new cloth and a light. Consider a new Diamond bar box if you want to spend more.
