Honduras Rosewood?

I just got some the other day and it looks pretty cool. Im gonna make a plain jane with a super curly handle. Anyone ever use this wood? I dont recall ever seeing it mentioned before. Its heavy as hell, so i will have to core it for sure. Im just curious who else has tried it and what your opinion of it is. Thanks!

I have used it on a couple of cues, yes it is heavy hell. Be carefull to not even think about rushing to turn it WILL move on you. It finished nice as i recall. I think I have a pic of one of them in my profile, its a plain jane with a curly handle.

Is it kiln dried? Do you have a moisture meter to check it?

HF has one for $10 and it works. I am not telling you that it is as good as a $100 meter but it will give you an indication of how wet it is.

Yes, its dried. I bought one of those hf meters and it hasnt worked since i got it. Lol.

my john davis has a honduran rosewood / cocobolo forearm, it's great, i love it.
also, bcm (bryan mordt) did the conversion, am very pleased with it, the other wood is african padauk.
