Playing safe is a very important part to becoming a competitive player. Safety play is part of the hole scheme to play pool at the top level, and in all primary games plays and important part in controlling a game. Back home in Ohio in the early sixties my mentor played hooks with me to show me the importance of safety play. It took me twenty years to figure out how important his safety lessons were. In the mid eighties me and a friend invented a safety game called "Wanna Win, Hookem". In 1990 i made a VHS showing safety shots and playing the game with a friend. In 2010 I wrote "Wanna Win", a book that has the rules for "Wanna Win, Hookem", and shows me playing the game. Ive been blessed to have worked with some great players, and learning good safety play has been an important part of their success. There are many people with good ideas about improving safety play, and if you want to become a better player I suggest looking into some of the instruction available. Thank you Tom Bourdeon
