Hoosier_Cues Bad Experience

I was pm'd awhile ago by Hoosiur_cues that he wanted to buy my cue I had for sale when he was looking for a plane jane for a good price. Offered him a great deal on a cue with 2 shafts, leather wrap, etc. etc. for 320.00 shipped. Everything seemed fine in PM's, we got each others addresses, and all seemed to go well.

Over a week and a half goes by and I dont receive any of the funds, no word, nothing. In the mean time I'm thinking the cue is sold so I buy something else. Well the money never comes in. I go give him a negative iTrader saying the funds were never sent and he gets all pissy in a pm saying I'm unreasonable and that he was then brokering the deal for his friend and a bunch of other bs. I simply said if he sent the funds like he said then I would correct it and still send him the cue.

What does he do? Then goes to my iTrader and gives me a negative and tries to put a spin on it saying I'm bribing him with iTrader. Still never sent the money. I wont trust dealing with him. He doesnt do what he says. I dont do many trades as it is and now I have a negative because of that bs. What a joke...

Personally, I'd try to do what I needed to do before I gave someone a negative rating, especially if he had the opportunity to give me a negative rating in return.

Yea it goes to show even itrader can be full of sh*t. It's just like rep. Little kiddies get upset like "awww you gave me a negative.. fine i'll do it back!" even though he clearly didnt do what he said in the first place.

I'm going to start giving random + itraders to people just like green rep and say excellent transaction! you are amazing!

Here is the original thread. Note the first sentence.
http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=83883

Then he sends me this PM Saying this......
My apologies I acted hastily because of other frustrations yesterday. I forgot it was for your friend and you were brokering the deal. If I correct the iTrader will you still send it? or is the deal actually over. I need to know if I should list it for sale or not.

Anyways sorry again.. let me know,
Chris

Note were it says "If I correct the iTrader will you still send it?"

Now here is the deal. This is mostly my fault. I brokered a deal for a freind. Everything was set up. I was going to Paypal the funds from my account. Cubc can't do Paypal so he wanted a money order. So my freind says he will send it. So I tell him let me know when he gets the cue. I didn't hear anything about it. Then this negative iTrader shows up out of no where. I was pissy, I will admit. Then I PM him about it and he tells me if I buy his cue he will take the iTrader off. So I "spun it" as bribery.

Personally I would have never sent the negative iTrader in the first place without first finding out what the deal was. As far as me sending the negative iTrader I guess this sums it up"My apologies I acted hastily because of other frustrations yesterday."

As far as I am concerned you are completly unreasonable. In my eyes that is what the iTrader is all about. You used it for ransom.

Yea I was giving you a chance to fix your f*ck up while trying to be as polite and diplomatic as possible.

But it's justified giving me a negative itrader when you didnt do what you said? ok. And I said I would adjust the itrader if you followed through on what you said because that was what you were complaining about in your pm to me.

But alas you didnt follow through and didnt pay like you said while I waited for a couple of weeks wondering. it pissed me off because everyone gets stuck with people not doing what they say. You're just another one of those. At least I do what I say I will asshole.

So anytime a deal has a problem send a negative iTrader first then ask questions later.

If the way I handled this makes me a$$hole so be it.

I didnt ask questions. I gave you a negative then wrote you off. You Pm'd me trying to explain and saying you were upset about the negative iTrader rating so I responded with a chance for you to correct your mistake. You didnt. It stayed.

Staggers the imagination I know.

Correct me if I'm wrong here but, it seems to me that this is what Itrader is for. If you have a negative experience then that is what you put it down as. This is airing dirty laundry for the whole forum to see. Badmouthing someone on Itrader gives them negative rep points but to make sure that you get your frustrations out and really give someone the shaft you post it on the forum so everyone can have doubts about dealing with them. It honestly seems that if you had handled all of this up front BEFORE putting ANYTHING on Itrader then the situation would have been resolved to a mutual satisfaction. There certainly was a better way to handle this...because I'm sure that credibility on both ends has been brought into question. Just my .02.

I personally had a cue for sale on here around a month or so ago,it was cheaply priced.I get a PM from a guy saying he will take it and send a money order,i wait and wait and wait, nothing came,i PM him a few times,he says he sent it,what am i to do?I honestly believe he didnt because i had to bug him for communication,he never got back to me about what happened with the MO.I went and sold it locally to the first guy i offered it to,i was going to leave a negative itrader but said it wasnt worth it,his story is he sent it,if he did then he never got back to me about what happened,i suspect he never did but who knows, the cue is gone now and no more being aggravated PMing somone who doesnt communicate well.I have to say i will leave a negative itrader if a matter isnt resolved and i have proof of being wronged but in this situation it didnt fit the crime i suppose.

My issue was that he didn't offer any communication before flying of the handle. Here is the PM I sent him after getting the negative iTrader....

Re: No money order?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The person I brokered the deal for told me he sent it. I just assumed everything was okay. I had not talked with him for a week or so. Once I got your PM today I tried to called him. If you would have just notified me I would have overnighted you the funds since I made a deal with you and I would have kept the cue for myself. Since you already did the iTrader the deal is over with as far as I am concerned. You knew I was brokering this for a freind that is not on AZ. I would have thought you could have contacted me to resolve the situation.

People yank your chain all the time here. I can't count how many times I get PM's saying "I'll take it" "You take %%% cash and you got a deal" . Then you arrange payment and all of the sudden the person goes AWOL,or they want to dictate different terms contrary to how I do business. I have come to learn who these flakes are,and it does not take too long to spot others. They tout their way,how many cues they bought, who they delt with,as some override to how you are gonna sell your stuff. I just politely thank them, wish them luck on their next cue purchase, and move on to the next Az'er who really means what they say and follows through on their word. There are many more true buyers and a few tire kickers, you just have to be patient.

I've only been here a couple weeks, but from reading all these type of threads, I know I won't be making any deals what so ever here.

I've made two deals so far here. 1st one went very well. Agreed on a price, met and exchanged cash for cue. 2nd one will be here today. Like any other purchase it pays to be wary with whom you deal. I wouldn't shy away from dealing with people on here just because of this. There are alot of great people who are for real here. Just be careful.
This is why handling this through the forum like this is bad...and it makes people wonder if they should deal with either one of these two people who are probably both very nice and very honest.

It's actually not that bad and I enjoy the trading that goes on here. I did a couple deals too before the itrader was set up that went smoothly. This was the first bad transaction I've had. Most people here are sincere and honest in doing what they say. I just posted this thread a) so that others watch out. There are bad deals out there. Sometimes when making a trade I'll do a search for the user to find out about them and if I see threads with them listed come up I'll read it and avoid them. b) Because if anyone asks why I have a negative itrader I can direct them here without having to explain everything.

In light of many of my sarcastic posts I do take my pride in my reputation and anything negative for a bs reason makes me feel obligated to justify it. I did give him a chance to make it right. I didnt post until he decided to give me a bad itrader for no reason. I had let it go a few times already.

this thread is a shame. i figured both of you as stand-up guys.

to be honest, though, i'd still probably deal with either of you.

It's always good policy in any dispute to make an attempt to communicate and resolve an issue privately before leaving a negative feedback. Negative feedback is the last resort, not a bargaining tactic.

Also, it's not possible to remove a negative iTrader feedback yourself. And those "comments" you're referring to about bribery etc. can only be seen by you guys. The public only sees the one line summary.

I think hoosier is commenting on how he perceived the messages. I'll add to your first sentence and say in addition to pms and emails, one or both parties can do something very simple... Pick up the phone and dial it. Very simple, and in most cases very effective.
