"We're sorry, unfortunately we don't have rooms available on 01/25/2009 01/26/2009 01/27/2009 01/28/2009 01/29/2009 01/30/2009 01/31/2009. Please try new dates or select from another casino." is the message I get trying to check available rooms...

I don't know if I can make it to DCC or not, but I just wanted to make a reservation, and confirm it within a week or something, but seems like it is fullbooked.

How far away is the other hotel, the Holiday Inn?

The Holiday Inn is 8 miles from the Horseshoe Casino. It's a nice place to stay and it is also a fast 8 miles, as there are no stop lights from the city limits to the Casino. Also there's a 55 mph speed limit on the drive along the river. We are making plans to have a shuttle on Thursday the 22 from the airport to the Casino and also may use the shuttle during the tournament back and forth from the Holiday Inn/Casino.....Greg/Diamond

The Casino only allowed us 300 rooms for the DCC. They are holding back 208 rooms for their gambling customers. I would make reservations at the Holiday Inn and check with the Horseshoe as there will probably be no shows and they may relesase more rooms for the DCC..After all it's January and it doesn't make any sence to leave a room vacant.

Do not let the satelite lodging deter you from coming, guys! Even the shuttle might turn out to be a mobile party unit -- you never know with this crew!!

Thanks for your answer. I have booked a room at Holiday Inn now, just in case I am going.

Since the scheduling of matches seems to have been a challenge in the previous years, how will it be for players living at Holiday Inn? Will they have to stay at Horseshoe all day waiting for their matches, or will they know when to play?
