I heard a rumor Hot Shots in Cypress, Ca may be re opening. Does anyone know if this is happening. I believe everything in the place was sold including all the GCIV's. I am curious what type of equipment they will have. I also would like to know when the sign on the door will say, OPEN.

I know the former owner. He just did not know how to run that place properly.
First he got too cheap with the table mechanic. He should have hired Ernesto.
Then he closed the kitchen for a dumb karaoke bar.
Gave that up eventually.
Parking was terrible too.
If someone re-opens that place ( I really doubt it ) he'd be swimming up the creek.

It actually had some business when Dante was running the place, then the management switched and no one went there anymore. It was a little sad how fast it went down hill. I'm pretty sure it will get another try, and hopefully has better success. Jay got those tables, I bet he got a really good deal too. They offered to sell them to me a couple of times and the price was really good.
Yeah if they tightened up the tables there I would have played at hot shots. Once the switch went from Cypress "family" billiards to hot shots things went down hill. The culture went from white trash to asain prep, not exactly a smooth transition to success. Rack n Cue is more fun, but their three tight tables play like garbage.

I will have to disagree about the Cypress "family" Billiards, that place was a dump. The equipment was bad, real bad.
Hot Shots had nice equipment, brand new GCIV's. I'm assuming the tables from "family" Billiards are in a landfill.

Yeah, and he also had the two in the back. Dante always played on the tables in the back. I know they were tightened up. I was there when the mechanic worked on them. And I also practiced on those tables.
I bought ten of his tables, all in excellent condition. I was going to open in Vegas, but didn't get my licenses. I still have nine of them left, if anyone is looking for a really nice GC4. They are only a few years old, with ball returns and lights. Send me a PM if you are interested.
I bought seven other GC4's from another place in Riverside. So I have fifteen left total. These seven are drop pockets, no lights. And we got nine very nice Global bar tables, the black finish ones. Also in excellent shape. All for sale now. All the tables are in storage in Vegas.

If anyone wants/needs a GC4, Jay has many in storage. The tables from Hots Shots were only 2 years old and most of the time the place was completely empty. So basically they were being stored at Hot Shots.

Thanks. Super nice and nearly new GC4 for $2,950! With a great light fixture and a set of Centennials. You pick it up in Vegas. Maybe in May at the BCA Nationals? Drop pocket table without the light for $2,750.
