Thanks, Bob. I think it's definitely mental, and hopefully I broke that wall down last night. It sounds like you're in the same boat. From what I've read of your posts, pocketing balls isn't the problem, but rather managing the rack, recognizing patterns, and falling on a break shot to get into the next rack. If it's any help, I tried keying on something Danny D was talking about during his commentary of the World Championship videos. He was stressing to not disturb any balls that already go somewhere. He said that if a ball goes somewhere, get to it. He said if you can do that, then it's just a matter of taking the balls off the table and falling on the break shot. It sure seemed to help me.
Also, I just purchased a Predator 314-2 about 2 weeks ago, and I'm still getting used to it, but I think low-deflection is the way to go for maximum feel and control. I'm definitely starting to feel confident shooting with it and my cue ball control seems better and I think it's only going to continue to get better as I get fully adjusted to it.
