How about a For Sale section for gold members only?

all I know is the current for sale forum is worthless to anyone other than dealers

With the dealers on the site, they do offer pretty good deals as they are working to thin out the inventory. Also, I have been able to sell items on here with relative ease and so far have had nothing but good experiences.

Just have to market your cue well and keep up on the bumps. This has been my personal experience though.

The Selling Fee

I don't spend a lot of time in Wanted For Sale Section but I know these people who own this site have to make money and a lot of people don't contribute so I wouldn't see anything wrong with Gold Membership to be the requirement of being able to sell.

I agree that the site needs and should receive compensation for such transactions but I also think that dealers and buyers would be much happier if the dealer has the say-so about how "their" space is laid out and has the permission to change it with a click of the mouse.

For example:

John Doe joins and is a dealer. He pays for a dealers membership and pays extra for a library space. In said space he can do trial and error to see what works best for "him" by setting the items by price tag and then new or used.........a month later he could change the settings to be type as in jump/break or shooter..etc and then new or used and then price..............or...........set up by custom or production then type ie j/b , shooter..etc...then price etc..etc..

Then John Doe would have the power to delete a complete thread from a day, week or month ago since it is now sold or he/she changed their mind on selling the item.

Bumping seems to be a big issue but as I have said before bumping would be a thing of the past in libraries since there would be nothing there but "their" stuff.

There could also be publicly seen data to let buyers know which dealers move more equipment and at what average price points compared to all other dealers. This type info is very important to buyers and can be a very useful tool to the seller if they are smart.

Having said the above there could still be a public open for sale forum as it is now for the once in a while seller that only sells 2 or 3 cues a year just to upgrade a current player at a very reasonable fee to do their part in helping the site stay in the pink without having to be in the midst of several dealers sending their singular thread to no-mans-land to never be seen again without an in depth search.

ebay does charge a fee to sell so perhaps AZ can get a cut of the sales from here but to make it for only gold members is a step backwards. besides is az complaining about the for sale area or just some elitists on here?

Get what you pay for

I don't know about elitists but my sales here are like nil so I'm going elsewhere pretty soon. I'm going to Amazon with all of my new material in a few months. I had 3 individual threads here that I would bump one of them each day. They said I couldn't have more than one thread per items so ok...that's cool and that ended my sales to zero but I'm not complaining, I'm moving. I had an ebay and didn't mind the fees but I'm coming out with new much better product in ebook form, that I don't have to hawk the same way. I'm going to a market where its all handled for me for a fee.

I see other folks that have gobs and gobs of threads each for a different item that are doing pretty well but its all good. If you notice you don't see CJ Wiley here anymore either who knows why but I suspect it was the same rule that got him.

No elitist thing to it, I think it was a rules change and adoption and it came with problems of its own.

I do think if you like being somewhere as you obviously do that you should think enough of it to risk being a Gold Member to support the place you enjoy.

I didn't Gold Member because I was selling here. I believe in supporting the things I enjoy no matter what it is. If that's being elitist, call it what you want.

This sounds like a fantastic idea! We've already nearly killed the wanted/for sale section. Let's just finish the job!!!!

The Wanted/For Sale Section here as well as in any other forum or Facebook page suffers from users unable to turn the page.

apparently you dont get the point of the OP.

I don't know why CJ is not here and I dont really care. obviously he has moved on.

and one more thing.......you are selling for profit like a business and not just selling items like the majority of us. so why don't you purchase an AD and put your money where your mouth is.

Only speaking for myself of course, or any like minded people that may agree, we wish you a safe journey, bye bye, and don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya. Peace brother.
