How are the U.S. 3C org. doing Today????

I believed there might be 2 or 3 Origination today??

We can ask...
1. Tournaments
2. Membership
3. Promoting

I know Carom Cafe Doing it Best!! Are the other 3C rooms doing, anythings!!!?

It has been a failure to try to convince any other pool rooms in Massachusetts to buy a single carom table. I’ve been trying for about 7 years.

The biggest tournaments in the US are not promoted that well at all.
The smaller local tournaments you'll never hear about unless you play at the same place regularly.
Membership? Those are not as common in the US as they are around the rest of the world.
Promoting? Very little to almost none.

A couple years back a local pro 3c player and I were looking for a female with interest and talent that we could train to help grow the sport and potentially send overseas. lol that never worked out. the best candidates could not average .5 at best. 3c is hard af.

I think i agree with the pool rooms. 99% of real pool players don't care about carom billiards

At bogies billiards in Houston we used to have a 10' carom table and literally no one ever played on it. Years went by and it just never made any money.

“Where are the pockets” or “what the hell is the point of this game?” Are the most common comments the general public attaches to 3C videos online.

“Foul” or “try doing that on the first try” are the most common for pool.

People are much more engaged in pool because culture has taught them the simple objective of the game. A carom table to them looks like a bowling alley without pins, or a chessboard without squares. Too ambiguous to gain interest based off of what they think they know about it.

It's indeed hard af, the learning curve is long, there's no instant gratification and the frustration of getting poor results can be sky high. Which is why we should stop comparing 3C to other, more commercially succesful sports. 3-cushion is and will always be a small, niche sport globally. I can live with that. If you have caviar, don't try to change it into Dorito's.

The biggest misunderstanding I see pool players make about 3c is that, "3c will help you with your pool game".

This idea is only half true but much more nuanced that pool players like to believe.

3c will teach you how to use new angles yet the equipment plays so radically different that most of the time the most similar shots between the two games are actually shot quite differently.

long story shotr, "don't play 3c to get better at pool, play 3c to enjoy the game itself".

after many years you wont see the benefit 3c offers to pool and when you do you'll realize it's almost always pointless to shoot 3c shots in pool and even one pocket.
