He passed my Irish test, looks like I flunked his. What the hell, I said I'm only half. Looks like I've walked into a bloomin trap here does it not?
I am also half Austrian, no wonder I have a drinking problem, what chance do I have I ask ya me boy. It's in the genes.
Any body got any good Kraut jokes they want to put up. Krauts are not very funny people, there probably aren't any. :D

Hello Gentlemen,

An Irishman who tells bad Irish jokes.

Why can't you borrow money from a leprechaun?
Leprechaun's always come up short.

How do you sink an Irish submarine?
Tap on the hatch

What do you call the man In the middle of a thousand Irishmen?
A bartender!

What do you call being in a poolroom in San Antonio Texas with a "Texas Bell", a "Tornado", "Velvet" and "The Shot"? The answer

Those are great jokes, the irish submarine should be the polish sub. Why does the current Italian navy have all glass bottom boats?

So they can see the old WWII Italian navy.

See I told you guys there ain't no Kraut jokes, or maybe I am the only Kraut on the board. No slipping in any polak jokes please.

OK guys can we go back to the inital post about BCn? I really wanted to hear others feelings about BCn's potential. I kept thinking about the Music City tournament, the Windy CIty tournament, and the Reno tournament. Instead of having to read about it in the billiard magazine. I think if BCn could have small teams around the major pool cities around America we could be getting the important matches from these events. Even one camera over the table with another hand held would be great with some local commentary. Like CNN did in the beginning. I would gladly pay a monthly fee for this.

I was at DCC. To get the quality of the picture they had at the BCn webcast required a semi-truck load of very expensive accu-stats equipment (lights, 3 fixed cameras, 1 boom camera, 3 cameramen, soundproof booth, electronic controls, , etc. etc.).

Some less elaborate setup might work but you would most certainly would sacrifice some quality. I don't know for sure, that's not my area of expertise.

Yo,

Back to the subject! No matter how you slice it pool on the web will never draw enough people to be profitable. Say Like NFL Football, or College Basketball on the three major networks and cable. I know it is exciting for die hard pool fans like us to talk it up but please, don't hold your breath?

Who would've ever thought people would watch guys playing cards on tv? It's all in the presentation.

Right I agree with both of you. But Im thinking of what BCn showed us as a potential. Remember Pat Fleming started with one camera over a table with no commentary(which I am the lucky owner of those copies). He did this as an after thought to his statistical quest. To keep stats on the game. Soon people began requesting copies. With the advent of technology it is easier to be mobile and light weight. Check out the new comers Worldpool.com. With just a couple of computors and 3 cameras these young guys are doing some great stuff. Of course they in no way compete with accustats but they are doing it. And Grem I dont think you should be so sure that the web would never be profitable. Who thought that there would be an audience for a bunch of women playing nine ball?

You hit it on the head Joe. If pool is to succeed, like big time poker, it has got to be Big Time Ring Games, like the one at DCC. The big money is what draws the crowd. Other than that, it is boring as hell watching people play cards. Grady and Greg saw this first. Someone has to sell it to TV networks.

BCn provides is a good means to develop a format for TV. The ring game for example, ESPN might entertain the idea and they might not. However, if it can be demonstrated via BCn that there is a proven interest for this format, ESPN would be much more likely to host it. I still think that there is money to be made by BCn but I doubt they will get into the Fortune 500 club. Then again, who am I to say? I don't want to be the one to squelch this entrepreneurial effort.
