How cues are made?

I hope everyone will excuse my ignorance but as I look at all the beautiful cues I am still clue less as to how they are made.

I'm sure you can't go into details but could someone explain some of the basics of cue making to me?

Also, can you explain the difference between: recut, veneers, joint, how the woods are connected, butterfly?

I guess I could go on for days with questions, but just the basics would help me understand and appreciate this art much more.

Thanks

I have one I'd sell, like new, $55.00 shipped. Paid 70+shipping. PM if interested. Verified PayPal is okay.

Your best bet would be to purchase Chris Hightower's Cue Making instructional book.

I tried to upload McDermott's video last night at yousendit but they have a 100 MB limit.

We have machines that do ALL the work for us. We simply feed in the raw materials then go get coffee.
When we come back, the cue is done.
(sound familiar?) :D :D

I ask myself that same question every day I wake up!

Chris Hightower is a good source for information.
Dennis Dieckman has a lot of written info on his web site you can read for free.
The Billiards Encyclopedia is a great source for some different info in this feild also.

Good luck in your search........
