How do the BB alternates do it?

Ok, I know the main players have adjusted their living arrangements, etc to play on their BB teams. I believe the pay was $1k/wk based on the posts I've seen. I'm just wondering with the recent additions of 2nd alternates if they are being paid the same, less, more?

I'm not ENTITLED to know, just wondering. Seems the alternates are from all over, so certainly they are not spending the whole season in Vegas. Just seems that being an alternate is somewhat cost prohibitive.

But with the seasons being recorded in 1 location, maybe matches are being pre-recorded and just the broadcasts are following the actual schedule. Or are they actually playing live based on the schedule on the WPBL website?

I heard from an alternate that if they dont play, the will only receive bucks if their team finishes near the top at season end.

Separately i heard that there may be some type of Bonus Ball event at the World 14.1


Both conversations were very rushed and i may have something or perhaps everything wrong.

Ok, so if you don't play, you may still make a few bucks if your team finishes high. What if they do need to play? Daryl Peach is sitting around in Europe and gets the call that he, as 2nd alternate needs to play in 2 weeks. If he is only getting 1k/wk when playing, it's a losing proposition to travel to Vegas to play that week.

Just trying to understand how it would work. I'd love to see BB work out, I just wish the city names meant they were in those cities and you could go watch a match live. Maybe someday.
 
thats one i cant figure out. not sure they have it figured out. i think they will have a few bumps with that.

the good news is most all the players are in town today, they start practicing-boot camp for a few days so they will be ready this weekend.
 
Here is a breakdown.

The way the alternates work is that they are paid the per match wage of the player they are playing in place for (approx 1k) most teams play 2 matches in a weekend when they play so an alternate coming in to play will play twice most likely. The way the prize money works at the end is a prorated system broken down per match.... ex: Say the Philadelphia Aces win the championship and Darren Appleton plays in 18 of the 22 matches and Jayson Shaw plays in the other 4. The way the prize money breaks down is $120,000 for the team..... divide that by 3... equals $40,000 each..... that is then divided by the number of matches played 40,000/22= $1818 so it would work out like this

Darren $32 724 Jayson $7276
