how do you get your felt clean?

I am a new pool table owner and am having trouble keeping my felt clean. I have a table with Olhausen Accu-guard cloth made by Hainsworth. It is electric blue and I use blue masters chalk.

I've tried the spray foam cleaner with a microfiber towel and also a standard brush. Both work ok with very light chalk marks, but neither work very well with heavier chalk marks.

What do you use to get your table clean? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. (note that I'm a pretty decent player and I'm not practicing my masse shot all day so you can assume normal wear on my table.)

Horse hair brush after every time I play. Quick Clean once a month.
 
Razor it all off and then powder up the boys so they stay nice and dry :thumbup2:
 
I also use a good quality billiard brush after every session. About once a week or three (depending on how much use the table gets) I'll vacuum with a low power mini-vac using first the no brush attachment (gets more suction so gets the deeper stuff), then follow up with the passive brush attachment. Then I wipe the cloth down with a damp (completely wrung out) micro fiber cloth. Finally I give it a gentle brush with the horse hair.

I personally do not like to use any cleaners on the bed cloth because I'm thinking they can leave residue that will just attract dirt more. But a lot of people do us Quick Clean and the like. It's just not for me is all.

The Simonis website says to stay away from high powered/high suction vacuums and powered bristle attachments.
 
I actually use quick clean and a car vac instead of the brush now...

Brushing stretches the fibers and allows the chalk to get to the slate....

The car vac I have is WITHOUT a beater bar and isn't super high suction....

I vacuum every time I think it's needed which can go from every day to once a week depending on how much I am on the table...

I will quick clean when the cloth starts to look a little dingy which can be once a week to once a month.......
 
I'm not a fan of Quick Clean. I brush and vac lightly on the current Simonis.

On my old Gandy Hustler (with fuzzy felt) I sprayed Endust on the table top and brushed lightly. It worked great. Maybe I'll try that on the current Simonis cloth...it's being replaced soon.
