How do you put out a "cue for sale/trade" feeler?

i haven't seen the cue yet, in fact it's just being sent to me this week.
it's an Unknown, believed Phillippi or Carolina custom.
no signature, no mark, no stamp, nothing. picked up coming through North Carolina.
the case has a "nitro glycerine" tablet tube attached to it (i don't know if that helps to I.D it).
there will be photo's after the holiday weekend.
so... i still need to know the best way to get it out for trade/sale?
thanks.

Put it in the for sale forum.

At least we know the guy had coronary heart disease, and probably a smoker.
Through the case I can see into the cue's soul, and it is saying Carolina Custom.

Start a cue ID thread in the main forum, and if nobody can Identify the cue put it up for sale as a unknown cue.
On your thread in the main forum, ask any questions you would typically ask in a "feeler" thread.
Ask for opinions on the value as well.
Let me know if you need help with it

Peace
Ted

I agree. Start a cue ID thread. And do it with good pictures.

That will stir up some interest and maybe even get an ID on the cue.

...and I LOVE cue ID threads. I learn more every time one is posted I think.

I have a few Phillippis and might be able to confirm. You could always email pics right to the Phillippi Shop and they could confirm as well. Their email is on the website www.phillippicustomcues.com

Isn't that what this is?

We would have to seriously start a "where is chopdoc" thread, If a cue ID thread ever popped up that you don't post on.
You don't even have to ID the cue, you can give everyone a play by play for the identification of that cue.
Six degrees of separation for pool cues.

Wow....

Um....

Nice cue.

Don't know who made it but....that's a darn nice cue.

Not so sure that's a Phillippi. Ive never seen a cue of his with a buttcap like that and I know the radial pins he has used are rounded and not squared off at the top.

The collar on the shaft doesnt really seem like a "collar". It's threaded and the pin screws into the collar and then into the wood?

Blackcreek makes awesome full slices and there Radial Pins are squared at the top like yours, however that buttcap looks a bit janky... and they sign their cues.

Not ruling out any of these makers, just throwing some info out there from what I know.

Full splice customs: popular
Best offer for sale threads: not popular

I would recommend you do some more research here on AZ and get it ID'd and then settle on a price you want to get for it. JMO.

Don't do best offer. You'll garner resentment.

Make sure it's not a Carolina. Then, try to get a hold of the McDaniel offshoots in TN (Good luck with that, and if you do, good luck getting a straight answer.)

Try Nemic. Try Prince.

Or, just sell it to me. :)

if the cue is that nice, i'm putting it into the sale section with a best offer option.

I wouldn't do that. Generally people don't like that. You want a price and take offers, or a firm price, one of the two.
