How does a pool player get a Fargo Rating (if he or she cares to have one)?

It's that simple...

Now we won't get you confused with all the other Frank Wojciechoski's

Lol, that does not look like a common last name to me. Looks to be a very unique last name, that I am betting no other person has. There are many last names that are very common though. It could be an issue for some players with very common 1st and last names.

Well, if you do not play league or tournaments (and you have not played in the USAPL or any other league that might decide to send data to Fargo rate, within the last 10 years), then I do not think there is any chance of you ever having a Fargo rating. It sounded to me like Mike Page has no plans or receiving and using data from non trusted (non officially trusted sources), so no need to worry about any data from gambling matches being used to get a Fargo rating.

Any time you play in a public (non private) event, you are basically giving your permission to have all of the info from that public event posted online. I do not know, but it is just the way I see it.

No I dont, and no I'm not, and not you are not correct. I'm not worried about anything - as I said. I just don't think its right that's all. I see Mr Mike Paige responded to someone else, but failed to respond to my question. FYI JUS , you are not allowed to use a person's likeness ( picture for commercial purposes without their consent. While I'm not a lawyer I'd bet theres a good chance that this stuff would fall under that uMarella too. To make it simple for yards Justin , you watch Impractical Jokers right? Everybody does. Well on many of their clips they have faces blurred out - that is because those people would not give consent so they are FORCED to do that to be compliant with the law. I may be wrong but I have a feeling if someone pushed the issue in regards to Fargo System THEY TOO would have to comply too.

Are you serious bro? I can't tell if you're just being funny or if you have actually slowed down on us lol! Yes of course Mike knows that, he was deflecting the question that's all ( which is at least a lot more than he did with mine - as in ignore! )

I think perhaps you didn't see my response in post 36 of this thread.

Brian, for someone so worried about privacy, you sure do post a lot in public forums.

I agree that you should get your data from trusted 3rd party sources (3rd party as in the people who run the leagues or tournaments). That is good that you are avoiding to allow players to send in their own scores.

Justinb386,

If a player has competed in the BCAPL Nationals in Vegas during the last 4 or 5 years, their data is in the system. That is how I got a starter rating. After that, my rating went down/up based on local tournies and challenge matches.
I have close to 700 games in the system now, so my rating doesn't move more than a few points after a tournament or challenge match.

APA has their own rating system which has many flaws and I don't think they have any plans on using Fargo.

Arizona has many tournaments that use Fargo and it seems to be working out pretty good. Once a player gets 200 games in the system, they are considered an established rating.

Not sure what your reasons are, doesn't seem like a big deal. If you don't play leagues or tournaments then who cares what your Fargo is?
Or are you trying to go under the radar to hustle? Those days are gone....LOL
