How does one get in contact with top pros?

I work at a 63 table room that is looking for a top 20 pro to come in and do some exhibition matches. Alas - it is tough to find contact information. Anyone with info...Help.

Thanks

There is a section on this board you can post in called "ask the pros" ....Post the one you would like to come out...

Keith McCready post here and has his own section...Seems like that would be an entertaining night to have him come out to your pool room....

Definitely. Keith would be a great pick.

If you indicate the geographic area in which you'd like a pro to do an exhibition, it would help. People from all over the world and all over the US post here.

Where are there Pool Halls with 63 tables in them? Is this in the USA or elsewhere?

Have you considered holding a tournament? Depending on where you are you could contact the organizer of a regional Pro tour to see if you can host a tour stop, or if there is nothing you can arrange your own. If your Pool Hall adds enough money the Pros will find you. (If it is the USA anything with $1000 or more added will be considered a "big" tournament and I'd guess would attract at least 50% of the Pros who live within a few hundred miles of your location.)

Alternatively look for existing Pro tournaments within a days travelling distance of your Pool Hall and contact the organizers of the tournament to notify the Pros signed up for the tournament that you are looking to book someone for an exhibition. I'd imagine you'd quickly have your pick of players, as any way a Pro can supplement their income on the road is very welcome.

9-ball Bum,
I doubt you will find anyone more entertaining, knowledgeable, or passionate about the game than Grady Mathews. See his post above for info. Good luck.

Grady or Keith would do a great show

:p I've been around both Grady and Keith and either would put on a great time. Where is your room located ? :p :D :p

Grady

I went to an exhibition that Grady did in Memphis TN a while back and he was great. He took time after the talk to show me some of the shots and he made sure that I saw it and that I understood it.

I remember telling him that I was sorry for asking him so many questions. He said this... and I never forgot it...."Anyone who shows an interest in this game and loves the game like you is a friend of mine." Just a cool act of kindness and basically donating his time.

Also, I have a bunch of accu-stats and Grady's commentary is the real deal. From my view- he is not holding back on what the players are considering and listening to his comments is really a chance to get inside the heads of the champion players. BI is great as well and it is hilarious when they commentate together.

If I had to guess (and I will) I would say it might be Shooters Billiards in Burnsville, MN. One of the few rooms in the country that I know of that has this many tables (63 rings a bell, I have never been there but they used to be a customer of mine)

Shooters (Burnsville, MN) has over 60, and so does Billiard Street Cafe has 57 (Fridley, MN).

Billiard Street does exhibitions every year. To my recollection, I have seen:
Mike Massey,
Nick Varner,
Efren Reyes,
Franciso Bustamaunte
Allison Fisher

I think it would depend on what kinda crowd you are trying to entertain. If it's the general public, Mike Massey puts on a helluva show.

For the very serious crowd, you can't beat Efren.

However, I would love to see Keith or Grady. You can't miss there.... Easy to get a hold of, great show, and entertaining.
