How does the BCAPL rating work and how does it compare to APA skill levels?

Dang foreigners up there over the border..

Hope you're doing well, Bill. Would like to get together and play some again, I'm in a much better place now. I still think I owe you a pizza, too.

I'm doing great and hope you are as well. I'm always open to playing any time and all AZBers are always welcome at my house. Send me a PM or give me a call if you still have my number.

There are 130 something masters and 13 grand masters listed on Western BCA's website. Those are just the men in OR WA.

Almost all of those guys would be playing the "open" or "advanced" in the BCAPL nationals, as they are the actual official ranking body of the BCAPL. Local and regional rankings don't mean anything compared to the official BCAPL rankings. I am a "master" in my local league systems up here in Calgary, when I go down to Vegas I play in the open singles in the BCAPL nationals.

Doctor,

Are you referring to playing with two Master players in your local league OR trying to play with them at the BCAPL Nationals next July? Can tell you from personal experience what the National rules are:

You CAN NOT play any Open Team event with even one Master player. One Advanced player only. Your roster may include one Advanced and nine Open players.

You CAN NOT play in the Advanced Team event with TWO Master players. One Master and three Advanced players only. Your roster may include one Master and up to seven Advanced players.

The nine ball events are similar in form.

Incidentally, lost my last match in May hill - hill to Luke Thomas for what was then 5/6 in the Open. Plays very well. Seemed like a nice guy. If you see him, please say hello from me.

Lyn
