If the ball comes out of the pocket it went in then I think it should stay up, when the ball goes in the pocket and comes out of another pocket I think it should go down. If the ball stays up that means that the game is based on the function of the table, if it had drop pockets this cannot happen.
I think it stays up; lose turn. What if the 2 happened to kick in the cue? The two is a live ball. We've all played games where the tables function [or lack there of] get's in the way of our expectations... You gotta take it on the chin.![]()
I was gambling playing $20 a game 9 ball out in Billings, MT way back in the 80's, on a Montana Billiards built 8ft coin op at the Corner Pocket pool room. All I had left to pocket was the 9 in the side, well being a bit of a showoff back then, I pocketed the 9 so hard intending the draw the cue ball 3 rails around the table just to show off some stroke, when all of a sudden the 9 ball came back up on the table from the opposite side pocket, rolled straight across the table, and fell in the side pocket I made it the first time. The guy I was playing just looked at me dumbfounded. ..like, what the hell just happened. I started laughing and told him he owed my $40 for that rack because I just beat him twice....LOL...of course he didn't pay up...LMAO
