How expensive is it to change a wrap?

I have a cue with an irish linen wrap. Personally I have liked wrapless cues. I do not like the wrap on this cue ... so is it possible to convert it to a wrapless one or change it to a leather wrap??

Conversion to a leather wrap is simple, and most cuemakers can do it. Kenny Koo on here does an excellent job. Price ranges from $100-200 depending on the wrap and who does it....more for exotic wraps.

If you want the feel of a wrapless cue on your cue, you would need to have someone refinish the cue and finish over the wrap so it would be covered like a Meucci, and feel like a wrapless cue. Cost varies. Here is a work order from Scott Sherbine at Proficient Billiards with contact info and prices.

Yes, I highly recommend Kenny also. He did a really nice wrap on my x-breaker.

I would also suggest though that if you would like wrapless, then you might want to look into a stack leather wrap. It's the closest to the feel of a wrapless cue with still having the wrap. Ryan aka Rat Cues is a pro at those and has really good prices for the stack...just look up Mueller's website for more info.

In the same situation as you a few months back I was told that a stacked leather wrap would most resemble the feel of a no-wrap cue.

I had Ryan at Muellers put a stacked leather wrap for me and he did a great job and it does feel a lot like a no-wrap handle. He'll treat you right.

Hey, thanks for the info. well the cost of my cue is not as much to spend 180$ for stack leather. Something less than 100$ is what I am looking for

stack leather can be done for 100-150 depending on the person.

I had stack leather put on. It looks great, but one warning: the sealer makes it close to wrapless but that tends to wear off over a few weeks. Mine wore off and now it's just very, very smooth leather, which is almost as slick or even as slick as linen wrap. Definitely not the same as wrapless.

I'd recommend just having some finish put on over your linen wrap. I had a meucci cue for 11 years which had that done and it felt exactly like wrapless, but with the look of a nice wrap. For $45, what that guy in Bama's link charges you (assuming he does quality work, I don't know him or his work personally), that'll fix you up an give you the exact grip feel you want.
