How expensive is your daily player

My favorite daily player is a Paul Drexler Hoppe Conversion (Ivory Joint and Ring, Leather Wrap, Uni-loc, with (2) Matched Predators and Moori III mediums ... My One-Pocket and Straight Pool Cue is a Alex Brick Custom (exact copy of a Palmer Model #20), 60" long ... Plays like a dream come true, but I only use it in Tournament Rooms where there is plenty of space between the tables and other obstacles ... It was un-godly expensive to build and I treat it accordingly ... I think it helps my game, if only mentally, since every player oggles it when I remove it from the Case ...

I currently play with my $1250 Wayne Holmes with an OB-1 shaft. So, lets see minus $140 for Waynes laminate shaft, add $200 for the OB-1 and it's worth $1310... :) Anyway, I shoot with this on a daily basis and I love it!

My current playing cue is about $800. My future playing cue is about $3200. The cost isn't the important issue for me. I just like the look of the cues. We all know that playability can come from any dollar value.

A Viking that cost about $120. Anything more would be like putting a dress on a pig. Or maybe putting an elevator in an outhouse.

My daily cue is a McDermott Knight ... retails around $1,400 I payed way less and I added a lizard wrap and a I-2 shaft for $100 and $275 respectfully! My second Cue I carry is a custom Jacoby $800

4-pointer Tim Scruggs with 5 veneers is my everyday playing cue. Probably worth around 1500-2k. Also for some bar tournaments I have a sneaky pete Josey worth around 450-500.

Gus Szamboti from the late 70s. For a cue worth somewhere around 5k, its very plain looking but it hits really, really good. I put down a late 60s Joss for the Gus and before that I put down a Southwest for the Joss.

All that said, I played the best pool of my life with a Wayne Gunn Sneaky pete in the early 90s. The Gus hits better than the Gunn but back in the early 90s I was a deadbroke student who played every day. With the right amount of quality time on the table, you can run out really good with a decent broomstick.

Viking F76 with Predator 314 w/matched joint ring.

My cost $440 and I take it everywhere.

My Dishaw originally cost between $700 and $800, depending on whether you ask the guy it was made for or Dan Dishaw. I paid $450 and had shafts made, so I have about $600 in it. Considering the fact that it's one of the first 12 cues Dan made, and that he's tried to buy it back from me several times, and that it would probably cost around $1200-$1500 made today, I'm guessing the value at about $2000. I've had standing offers of $1000 or more, for several years. I've had a Gilbert and a Murray Tucker that I paid more for, but no longer have them.

Currently shooting with a Jack Madden, not fancy but it plays OUTSTANDING, worth 700-800$$. Waiting on
a fancier Madden worth quite a bit more than my current cue.
Breaker is a BK2, $350ish value.

I have played with some very expensive cues, my most valuable was a highly tricked out all ebony and ivory Cognoscenti worth in
excess of $5000

I don't worrry about the value of the cue, if it plays nice, I shoot with it. My current cue has been my favorite player to date.

P.S. For those using images in their posts, please resize to no more than 800 px wide, if larger, they make it really annoying to
view the threads. I hate scrolling side to side!!

I've done the same as most here on the boards.

My "daily" player has been as inexpensive as a $100 McDermott.....and as high as a $3000 Black Boar.

I just got my new 6-pointer.....but haven't actually used it more than a rack or two.........but I'll call that my player, now. Kinda blows that $3000 out of the water (closer to $4000) now.

Regardless, I still have a $10 game to go with the cue!! :) ;)

My daily player is a $300 Pechauer which I love. It hits well and balanced well. It is just inexpensive that I can concentrate on my game.

I play league mostly (and a few tourneys),,,my daily driver is a fiberglass players that I paid $14 for. people make fun of me 'cause the stick is green, but I just beat them anyway...lol

Just like most on here. I have 3 high end cues and my daily player is a Frey SP worth about 350.00 but hits better than you would think.

My Gilbert goes about 2k and the Gilbert j/b goes about 600-700. everybody talks about worrying if they put a mark on there cues if they play with them. I can tell you my cue has made the bumpy trip across a table or two in its time and it still looks good. Just play with them and don't worry about it. If it is a Gus or GB I can understand it because it can't be replaced but if the cuemaker is living why worry about it. If you mark it up send it to them for a fresh coat and use it some more. I do have cues that are case queens and don't see action anymore but the one I am comfortable with gets played, expensive or not.
