How I almost beat Scott Frost

While some of my friends are at VF in action I came to Phoenix for some mountain biking and pool and family visit.

I made a few calls and got some action scheduled with Scott. After a warm up game with Bernie, Scott walked in and here we go.

My arms felt like lead but I was moving real good and made some balls when Scott gave me a chance. It was a large spot and I was having some fun. I felt like I was out moving Scott to some extent and was actually up some for the first hour and a half.

We doubled the bet and and my wheels promptly fell of. I couldnt make a ball, I couldnt move. I was in the DEAD ZONE. I was down 5 or 6 games and told myself I would give it another game or two.

All of a sudden the small round planets started to align and I won three or four in a row. Scott missed a few balls and I managed to break even before I had to leave to meet familly.

I was thinking about some of the other threads about out moves vs. shooting and feel that moving is over rated. If I could have pocketed ball better I could have won.

that sounds like you had a great time, even though you lost. i really like to hear about action where the players are good, they have a good time and above all................no *****ing or complaining or stiffen someone out of money.
 
Just curious. What was the weight? I mean, did Scott outrun the nuts? 12-5 and 9-7 will give the insight into just how cool this night was. Thanks and congrats.

A little birdie told me "you only think that you have a chance at 11-5". Well I took 11-6 and feel like I out ran the nuts only in reverse. Good thing we only played 4 hours. I'm sure I would have cracked.

I can see why Scott is a world class player. He can make balls from everwhere. But he is human and I only have to get too six.

AHH, so that was you when i went in there yesterday for a little bit. You were a new face and i was wondering.
I watched for a little bit. you made some really good defensive shots for few minutes i was watching.

Are you still in town?

I'm in town till the 30th. I'll call Andy and let him know when i return to Kolby's. Hoping to play Scott again. If not some new action would be great.

How far over my head would SJD be? I'd like to find out.
 
jtompilot...You love to play. You love to gamble...and you have the guts to step up and play anybody (with the "right" game...LOL). Playing SJD would be a neat comparison, of 'old school' one pocket vs. the 'young guns' of today...both in terms of shot selection, and safety play. I'm sure SJD would make you a fair game, and step into the box quite readily! :eek::thumbup: Go have some fun!

Hi Jim,

Good meeting with and playing you (briefly) yesterday.

You move pretty good. I think now that you have faded the "Frost Factor" you might fare better next time.

I'm not sure if you know, but there is a 1P monthly tourney at Kolbys next Sat 28th. It's a race to 2 h/c and a lot of fun.

If you are interested in playing some more I will be in there Fri 27.

You can PM if interested.

P.S. I might need a little sumpin' sumpin' to keep up with you.:smile:
