Either under 5 hours or more than 20 hours.

I was thinkin the same thing. either someone catches a gear and puts it away quick or its gonna be a long drawn out battle.

That is actually what I think. Either real quick or forever.

Yes. Either one of them is going to pack it on early or they will battle until one wears out. I actually say 20 hours if the format is 10 and then sleep. If this is not the format, it could be over sooner.

Here's an idea... we can have a "How long will it last pool?" Depending on the number of entrants we could have either 15, 30, or 60 minute blocks.

Course, this is Johnny Archer we're talking about. Any match with him can take 20 hours if there's enough lint on the table.

From what I hear they will only play for 6 hours a day Thursday and Friday and they will prorate the the game at that point if someone has not already won.

Again this is what I heard from a pretty good source but I could be mistaken.

Pro rate? Thats more like an exhibition match. Not worth the sweat if there is a possibility of coming out even.

This is correct. I just checked with Larry and they are playing from 7pm to 1am on Tursday and coming back Friday to finish if need be. He didn't say at what point they would stop on Friday though, but they will prorate if neither gets to 10.

To everyone I have action with:

kentw
Thunderball
gpeezy
Charlie Hustle

Unless contacted otherwise, I will assume that the player in the lead at the conclusion of their play is the winner whether the entire 10-ahead is complete or not. Therefore, our sweat bets will be paid in full whether the set is complete in 1 hour or if at the time they stop one player is one game or more winner. All bets will be considered push if they are even at the conclusion (not the 10 hour point, if they continue to play the bet is live).

Please PM me if this is an issue.

This match should be interesting since it features two players with very opposing styles of play. Larry who prefers to play power offense at a fast pace, and Archer the more deliberate and methodical player.

Larry's strategy will be to take advantage of the home court and jump to an early lead while Archer is still adjusting to the table and room conditions. Johnny using his vast experience will make every attempt to slow things to a crawl and force Larry to play the match at his pace.

If Archer can string a few racks together, all the while picking lint and walking around the table two or three times on each shot, he may be able to frustrate Nevel enough for the victory. However, my prediction is that Nevel will be able to shake off the shark and win late Thursday night.

Estimated match time = 6 hours.

Any time you're play an ahead set, it's hard to say, you can only guess. I've seen one guy get 9 ahead and still lose. I've seen two 9-ahead sets take two days.
