Say a jump or break stick that is consistently hit all the time or driven with the cue ball, wouldn't it bound to break the inside structure of the shaft at one point?

A lifetime

A decent cue even a jumper or a breaker will last you a lifetime if you take care of it and don't abuse it. you will wear out long before the cue does

If you take care of it, a lifetime. If you don't, not long. I knew a guy that left his in the car all the time. The heat warped the butt after a few months.

If you take care of your cue and shafts they are going to last for a long time. The only thing you have to replace in timely manner is your tip.

I have a Dufferin I bought for $35 about 30 years ago. I do not use it much anymore but it still plays like it always has. I believe it will last as long as I do not abuse it.
