Writing is skill like playing Pool, not everyone is Willie, or Tom Clancy.

In the case of most great writers, most have editors to make they look better.

Pool players might have coach, but they show their greatness on table playing.
I understand, but you have a reputation you don't really want. Just take a little extra time to proof read before you hit enter. We'll all appreciate that.

Sometime it is big fingers, typing on small phone.

Then you got auto fill that drive me crazy.

If this is biggest mistake I make it’s called being human, God is apprently perfect.

I probably have too many considering I only use the same one. Except when I play on my garage table, then I use an old Meucci or a really old Joss West because I drink rum when playing at home. Don’t want to scratch up my Mobley. I figure if I still have more fishing rods than pool cues I’m ok.

But it’s the one that got away that still bothers me. Went broke in Alabama during college and borrowed some money from a dickhead who held my cue as collateral. He went broke and sold it. If anyone has an 8 point ebony Schon with a skinny butt I have a handful of cash to trade for it.

TOOMANYCUES.

Guy had unique collection, live in Eastern Europe.

Me I just have couple I play it try to play with.

Not collector, out grew that habit.
I have a few, but only use 2 - playing and break. As I learned the sport I discovered what works for me. Those 2 cues are both better than I am, so I'm probably set for a very long time. I understand collectors but I view cues as tools only. While I appreciate the inlay art in some that doesn't matter to playability so plain is fine for me as long as it has the feel I understand.

7 excluding junk and bar cues

Showcase Billiards (now defunct) hustler anti deflection 1
Schmelke 2 (1 used as a break cue)
Eliminator clad cues 2 (18oz / 21oz)
Dufferin Silver Anniversary snooker cue 1
Cuetec jumper 1 - never use

Plus about a dozen dufferin bar cues and assorted pool and snooker cues that came with 3 table purchases. 2 Minnesota Fats (Sears) and 1 Action cue - whatever that is. Thinking about having a good shaft made for one of the Fats cues for grins - not sure it is worth it but it would makes me look like a joke. My friends would say it would make no difference!

I play with the showcase cue exclusively and have not purchased a cue in over 20 years other than the Dufferin snooker. If I get in a slump the 18 oz eliminator serves as penance and it gets me through it. It gets less respect that it deserves as I always shoot well with it. The Schmelke I don't use as a break cue was my first serious cue purchase. I no longer like the way it hits for me even though many people that try it love it. Will never sell it though.

Just two... a Schon SP7 with a Jacoby Ultra Hybrid and some OB Classic+ shafts, and a cheap J&J break/jump cue. Thinking of upgrading to a better break cue and a dedicated jumper.

1-Rick Howard ~ 2001 (So fine, words fail me)
2-McDermott E-B5 Merry Widow ~ 1990 or '91 (great player, as good or better than the D-series)
3-Dzuricky Fancy Sneaky ~ 2021 (very little play so far. Scared it might make me sell my Howard)
4-Pechauer Naked Break/Black Ice shaft ~ 2021 (never used, still in box from Pechauer}.

TOOMANYCUES... no such thing!

My problem is I keep upgrading to higher end customs but forget to sell the previous cues. Then there's the issue of shafts. Let's see... there's low deflection, ultra low deflection, old wood, kielwood, carbon fiber, someone else's carbon fiber, break shafts, jump shafts... Where will it end?!!!
It never ends……

Ain’t it great?

It dawned on me that it’s rare indeed when the number of cues in anyone’s collection requires using a comma.

However, punctuation wise, it’s so much more common for someone’s collection to require a period….that’s it,
no more……the wife would strung me up if I bought another, already own more than I need, time to thin out
what I own, prices of cues I’d like to get are just ridiculous so I’m done….Yup, I can see why period seems right.

At the moment, as far as playing cues go, I own a Mezz EC7-R1 with 3 Wx700 shafts and a spare Mezz Axi-R with one Expro Shaft but I keep that cue in the wardrobe so I don't confuse myself and try to switch cues when I'm in a slump during practice/tournaments.

Double digit is respectable

Please let us know when you hit 3 digit’s
Double digit is best I got while OTR trucker.
Got into cues and had 25 at one time, no cheapies.
Double digits being mentioned,,, my rig was a 1985
W-900 Kenworth with a 444 Cummins,15 speed over, and 3:70 rears,
It was set at factorcy specs +20%, and would run triple digits, 115 empty or loaded, even up
Christiansburg, Va up I-81
This is my 1st experience with oversize loads. And that KW is why I lost my license
in 1993.
Lone Star Transportation got lucky and got me in '07, oversize/heavy-haul, then long wind blades
and no drankin', 6 seasons of hauling blades with one front escort the entire time and 2 rear, one fell ill.
My truck was # 1095 with Lone Star from '07 till'13
I pull ALL the big shit,,,,, and toted one cue! lol

If we're counting players only:
4 Greg Hearns Widowmakers
1 Cuetec Cynergy

I used to play daily with the Hearns I designed and had built.
Days after Proficient returned it to me with a beautiful new finish, some recreational player accidentally knocked it down.
It landed in a metal seam between tile and carpet and made a deep gouge in the forearm.
It was then that I switched to a cheap, more durable import.
Cool story I know...

All together, near as I can figure, 1.5 million. No wrecks, no shifted or damaged loads.
1st gig before Lone Star had speeding tickets and 2 for radar detector.
With Lone Star I had one speeding at a radar trap in a small town in Utah and one no seat belt in Yuma Az.
