How Many Times?

I'm not getting in a pi$$ing contest with someone that does not know the facts, the people involved, and uses the term "hype" when speaking of anyone else's cues but his own.

LOL, you'd be facing into the wind if you did.

Everyone hypes their cues, either directly or indirectly (using someone else) , including me. It ain't bragging if you can back it up, and evidently the guy Matt has problems with can't come through.

I'm in a real pickle here . I believe that the maker of the cue has always had nothing but good intentions . He tried to go over the top in customer satisfaction by making a free J/B to go along with the Second cue .

I gave an inital deposit of 30% and sent the balance on completion of the first cue . When I told him I was not satisfied with the work he asked for a second opportunity which I was willing to give him. I asked if I could get my money back in the meantime he stated that he was unable to refund me but would do a matching j/b to make up for the inconvience and additional wait.

I asked for progress pic all along . Never recieved any on the second cue until it was ready to ship . The maker had forgotten to put the point inlays in. It appears that in his haste to correct the error the quality of the inlay is poor. Why he sent it to me when he knows that I expect nothing but perfect . He infact told me he appreciated me calling him on his first mistake and demanding his best work.

I have not contacted him yet to see what he would suggest as a solution.

That's a pretty easy fix Matt. I'd give him the chance to fix it. If he's not comfortable doing it on a finished cue, bring it over and I'll do it.

Your photo is blown up quite a bit. Perhaps he didn't even notice it. I can't say as I haven't seen the cue myself.

Thanks Tony . I appreciate the offer .

I was in a similar position a few years ago. After several disappointments with the cue maker I just wanted out and my money back. It didn't happen and the work sent to me was of a questionable quality. I didn't want to see the cue, much less keep it around to remind me of all the past troubles. I put it on e-bay and was lucky enough to get something for that piece of junk. The main thing was I got it out of my life and moved on. There is only so much you can put up with before the cue has bad vibes. You can't enjoy it and you can't stand to look at it, a bad deal all around.

It's really a cosmetic issue . The cue is super good in every other respect and the J/B is sweet. Makers cues are known for their excellent play and construction. Thats why I ordered from him after owning one of his cues second hand that was Jam Up!

Other than the one inlay not having been cleaned good enough it looks like a fine cue. The Coco looks good, the veneer glue lines are very good and the finish looks extra good seeing as how close and blowed up the picture is. Doesn't get much better than this, other than the inlay of coarse.

You are correct everything else about the cue is fantastic. I am more disapointed than anything, that after taking the time to do every thing else perfect the details weren't sweated on the forgotten point inlays.

I certainly am not angry with the maker just a little disappointed . A cue is not worth getting angry over.
