why bother with "brand new" ?
Ive seen some rediculous deals on tables (including GC's & Vally's) on craigslist...
Ive seen GC's as cheap as 1500 and Valleys as cheap as 800 on there...
Try using any number of free software programs that monitor multiple CL markets and send you alerts everytime a keyword like "brunswick" or "valley" comes up... say within a 300 mile radius of you... If you don't want to DL the software use a site like searchtempest.org that allows you to search many CL markets at once... If it saves you several grand why not?
I guess what are the details befind the question ?
I only ask because , yeah , table are SOooooo much cheaper used if you really need to buy one. But if there are other reasons you ask then the answer could be anywhere from MSRP to new factory seconds/warranty/refurb.
Its for insurance purposes....I have to put a value on the tables in the pool hall...
I've seen (somewhere) brand new Valley barboxes for $2000. I really think it was the Mueller's catalog, but I'm not sure.
Replacement value or cash value ?
I think it depends how good your insuance is...no? Johnnyt
According to Brunswick, their price is 9,748.00 for the V. For the IV would no longer be new, but they can be purchased from around 2K to 3.5K in fairly decent condition from what I'm finding doing searches on the internet.
If this is for insurance, you'll want to give your sources. GC V will be easy, since it's being sold now. GC IV will be a little more speculation, and you'll probably need to go with a mean number. Somewhere in the middle of what you'll find out there.
My suggestion would be to spend about an hour searching, on the internet, and getting a bunch of links together that you'll be able to send to the insurance adjuster, with the costs. Hope this helps.
> I've read on here somewhere that the GC-V TOURNAMENT edition (4.5 pockets vs stock standards) is like 11-12k full retail, but actual street price may be less.
For that reason alone there are only a few reasons I can think of why ANYONE would buy a new GC vs a new Diamond.
They WANTED the Brunswick name and just happened to like the GC best.
Some with deep pockets that just liked the GC better, but has regular access to a Diamond. Picture a decent but not hardcore player, with a sweet job and buys a table for the house.
Pool room owners that may be getting a sweet deal on a lease and can get the tables installed quicker by the dealer.
Someone that went looking for a Diamond, but got talked into buying a GC by a skilled salesperson.
Even at the 9-something figure someone above mentions, you save just over 2k buying even a brand new Diamond Pro,and get the matching lights and chairs to boot. The same Brunswick setup with their high-end light and chairs is probably close 15k delivered.
This is just one reason why Diamond is getting bigger all the time, and I bet they aren't selling many GC's at their price point.
Diamonds are generally considered to play tougher, are said to be easier to work on,and of a higher build quality than Brunswicks, plus they do a lot for the game, not that Brunswick hasn't.
At the same price I'd take the GC personally. At current prices Diamond wins every time. If we're talking a refurb/tournament used table,my decision would be based on the conditions of the tables in question.
I'm basing this all on the Diamond Pro model vs the GC-V,not the Smart Tables or the Pro-Am. I'd play on those if they were available here, but wouldn't buy either of those models. Tommy D.
