I have played my fair share of 9-ball since the late 1970's, but I always hated it. Only reason I played it was it became the only game for good action. I always had a poor break, even on a bar table. Just never practiced it. If I practiced or played someone for time and fun, fun, it was 14.1.
This time when I started playing again it was on my own bar box. I have been playing a lot of 9-ball ghost and working on my break. Now that I can make a ball on the break and a lot of times two, I beat the ghost more than 60% of the time. I know if I make one on the break and spread the balls the I'm even money to win that game. If I make two on the break, I'm the favorite. I want to publicly thank Niel for telling me that my shoulder was killing me from breaking because I should just be using from the shoulder down. My shoulder was in such pain that I couldn't even break at medium speed. Anyhow, now that I took his advice my shoulder doesn't hurt one bit after a 100 breaks or more a day. Thanks Niel. I have the 9-ball ghosts number now, so it's on to the 10-ball ghost. Johnnyt
