How Much is the Crown Prince of Brunei Bribing the WPA?

This thread is starting to degenerate!

Being a known degenerate... I resemble that remark.

I'm sorry I'll get back on topic.

Like OMG! You know the Crown the Prince of Brunie? That's like so, so cool.

What's left to be said? Are you awaiting any answers to any pertinent questions?

He probably didn't miss much of the single life. His father was legendary for having some of the most widest parties ever thrown. It was said that Heidi Fleiss was the primary supplier for the female entertainment. I'm just bummed he never invited me!

Oh, the controversial "Brunei Beauties," it was an international affair.

I might cause fairly deserved angor by saying that but NO WAY Prince Billah can beat ANY of top 40 Pinoy players at his present speed. I would rate him a C+ player, no more. I'm sure there was smth fishy in his win over Pena, and I believe he tried to arrange it with Bustamante. Since Django well realised how he will look in the eyes of his local fans probably the price was set too high and they didn't come to an agreement.
I've been watching this game live in the venue and Francisco played very loose and scrappy. I still remember a shot on the 9 when he left tough cut, almost 90 degrees, played the shot in the corner so that the 9 left hanging in the jaws, but the cb made 3 cushions and ...oops pocketed the 9! Prince Billah had many chances though in order not to be humiliated. Like giving him b-i-h on the 7, and he awkwardly ran 3 balls to win a rack.
But we can forget money matters for the coming WPC. The format is great, now every game counts. There is no place for tricky games like last years when some players needed to win over those who didn't need anything, or for games which meant nothing. I know from past years Stalev was offered to arrange a game, I've heard Drago did make such offers. Why miss the opportunity not only to qualify for the next round but also earn some from the bookmakers?
But now there are no unimportant games left. It's live or die, and I appreciate it most. I'm sure everyone from the players to the audience will like it.
Another story is how players like Prince Billah or from South Africa get to play at WPC while dozens of players who will beat them in 10 of 10 occasions have to fight in qualies. But TheOne mentioned it right, it's World Championship, so there is need to get as many countries/continents involved as possible. Just like in soccer where countries form Africa or Asia are much weaker that those Europeans who couldn't qualify.
But Williebetmore has a sound point here, about some level test. I have nothing personal against Zbynek Vaic (RSA), but those of you who manage to see him playing this year - decide for youself if you could do better than him. I'm sure you could. And at World Cup of Pool he wasn't playing for South Africa. So why is he at the WPC again? Don't they have better players to send?

I'm not sure why, but when I hear his name the first thing that comes to mind is James Earl Jones as the king in "Coming to America."

though they deny it (the women), there is truth to it. a very reliable source told me. if this kind of high class prostitution happened, what more can dumping a game in the WPC.

Well, last year his opponents were bribed to dump games to him, so all of his matches wouldn't be whitewashed. The WPA knows that everyone knows about it, why are they still letting it happen? My friend was there last year, and he said the guy really can't play at all. Letting him in the tournament isn't all that bad, since he is the sole representative of a country, but the open bribing of a few of the game's top players, in front of people, I think that kind of makes the WPA look bad for turning a blind eye. At least have him do it in private this time.

Where is your proof that players have been bribed. The Crown Prince matches against Thomas Engert and Bobby Lee this year prove you wrong.

Please don't make other look bad by making false accussation. One bad rep for you. You must be the most unpopular fellow in town. Very Sad...

I once asked the Sultan of Brunei if he wanted to play a set or two. He said, "yes, I will play you a race to 7 for $1000 US dollars". After I accepted and we were pulling our cues out he pulled me to the side. He whispered," All of my countrymen will be watching us on the webcast so if you win you get $1000, but if you lose (as he gave a sinister wink) I will shower you with gold bullion worth millions in US dollars." I nodded back at the Prince and gave him a reassuring handshake.
The Prince broke and made a ball but scratched. As I took the cue ball I looked over at the Prince and then into the webcam and said " up yours with the spot, ok? ". Which was crazy, because we weren't playing with a spot but I thought it might confuse him. I calmy ran the first table and then put a six on him to blank him in the set 7-0. He walked up to me and handed me a few flourescent colored bills with what looked like a lion king on the front. He said "you have made a very bad decision and disgraced me in front of my country, I shouldn't pay you anything but my word is always good so here it is". I looked at him and said, " look dude, go to Public's and see if you can trade out this Monopoly bullshit for some Grants and Benjamins or I'm gonna have to wale on that princely ass". He went over to the ATM and withdrew enough to pay me and then left. That is how I became the Sultan of Athens, GA.

Who are you bullshitting here? The Prince does not need an ATM machine. I bet you can't even string up couple of balls.

I wouldn't blame you if you go berserk with everyone here who knows and saw what happened compared to you who is mostly blinded by loyalty or just don't know what is factual. right or wrong, the prince being your own compatriot, will always be your prince. so sad that some people refuse to accept those painful facts. one word which I can describe you >>> BIAS !!! :p :p :p

JOHNNY,

Mr. Corvette 1369 is bustin balls. That's like saying things in a NOT serious way because he might be bored or he's having fun. A lot of people do it all over the world but it might be frowned upon to do it at the CPOB's expense, esp. in BRUNEI.

I'm sure the CPOB plays very well, but, there is an American pool player currently working as a contractor in IRAQ who could be great competition for the CPOB which, if they could play, might elevate both of their games.

Let me know (here or via PM) if the CPOB would like to see this become reality.:)
